Fest Afrika

Fest Afrika Fest Afrika is the oldest and biggest festival of African music and arts in Finland - coming up again 28 July - 2 August 2026!

Fest Afrika is an African Festival that is organized every summer in Tampere, Finland. Its main purpose is to promote and present all kinds of African performing arts without caring about the backgrounds of the performers. Our objectives are to promote African performing arts and create awareness of African cultures, so that we can bring communities together in a spirit of education and entertainm

ent. We promote multiculturalism and integration in Finland and offer easy access to African experiences. Fest Afrika festival consists of performances, workshops, exhibitions, films and seminars. We also cooperate with different associations promoting African cultures, development and fair trade.

Annina Tuhkusen afrotanssi ja kehonhuolto -workshopissa palauduttiin festariviikosta livemusiikin säestyksellä, josta vastasi Adama Koné .

In Annin Tuhkunen’s afro dance and body care workshop we recovered from the festival week to the accompaniment of live music played by Adama Koné.

Lauantain konsertin lopuksi matkustettiin Afrikan itäreunalta länteen ja nautittiin Trio Mandengin taidokkaista tulkinnoista perinteisistä länsiafrikkalaisista sävelmistä!

For the last part of Saturday’s concert, we travelled from the Eastern end of Africa to the West and enjoyed Trio Mandeng’s skillful interpretations of traditional West African tunes!

Fanta Yayon johdolla opeteltiin perinteisiä lauluja Guineasta - samoja lauluja tunnetaan muissakin Länsi-Afrikan maissa.

We also learned some songs from Guinea with Fanta Yayo - some of the songs are known also in other West African countries.
