Kolmas Muotoilun Iltapäivän puhuja on Maria Jokela, MA Fashion Design

PGDip Art & Design: Interdisciplinary Practices. Maria Jokela on pirkanmaalainen muotitaiteilija ja 20-vuotiaan Dead Birds & Lionheart -merkin taiteellinen johtaja. Hänet kutsuttiin ensimmäiseen Suomen Muodin Huipulle -tv-ohjelmaan, jossa hän sijoittui toiseksi vuonna 2009.  

Jokela suunnittelee ja valmistaa muotia taiteellisin päämäärin; kuvitus, maalaus ja valokuvat ovat osa taiteellista prosessia. Hän on myös luonnonvaratuottaja ja luonto- ja ympäristöneuvoja. Hänen puheenvuoronsa on The (Human)Nature of Fashion / Muodin (ihmis)luonto - Pohdintaa muodin suhteesta luontoon muotitaiteilijan näkökulmasta.

Design Afternoon will be held on Wednesday, October 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Werstas auditorium, close to many other TAD Week events and exhibitions.

The third speaker of Design Afternoon is Maria Jokela, MA in Fashion Design, PGDip in Art & Design: Interdisciplinary Practices. Maria Jokela is a fashion artist from the Pirkanmaa region and the artistic director of the 20-year-old brand Dead Birds & Lionheart. She was invited to participate in the first season of Project Runway Finland, where she finished as the runner-up in 2009.

Jokela designs and creates fashion with artistic intent; illustration, painting, and photography are integral parts of her creative process. She is also a natural resource producer and a nature and environmental advisor.

Her talk, titled "The (Human)Nature of Fashion", explores the relationship between fashion and nature from the perspective of a fashion artist.

Oli mahtava kokemus päästä seuraamaan vedenalaisia kuvauksia Iso-Melkutin järvellä. Tällöin kuvattiin Merenneito Nerissan lyhyttä pätkää Nina Maaninkan toteuttamaan lyhyt elokuvaan.

It was an amazing experience to witness underwater filming at Lake Iso-Melkutin. At that time, a short scene featuring Mermaid Nerissa was being filmed for a short film directed by Nina Maaninka.
