Singer, the stage of Olavinlinna Castle is calling you! ⭐

We are now looking for new singers for the Savonlinna Opera Festival Choir for summer 2027. The choir is known for its vibrant sound, musical punch and powerful stage presence, with around 70 singers in the 2027 season. Singers are chosen for one-year tenures based on auditions.

✨ Lisette Oropesa returns to Savonlinna!

One of the most acclaimed sopranos of our time, Lisette Oropesa captivated audiences at Olavinlinna in the summer of 2023. Since then, she has wowed audiences on the world's greatest opera stages and risen to international superstar status.

This summer, Oropesa takes on the role of Norma for the very first time in her career, right here at Olavinlinna. 💙🏰🎶

Already performed four times at Olavinlinna Castle, The Marriage of Figaro has received glowing praise from both audiences and critics alike. In particular, the outstanding soloists, the rich orchestral sound and the witty staging have stood out in the feedback we've received.

Waltteri Torikka shines in his role debut as Count Almaviva, while Mozart's playful score comes to life within the historic walls of Olavinlinna Castle.

Nabucco’s dress rehearsal was truly spectacular. 💚 Verdi’s magnificent music resonated through Olavinlinna, while the powerful chorus and outstanding cast brought one of opera’s greatest masterpieces to life. ✨

Nabucco will be performed at Olavinlinna on July 8, 11, 14, 17, 21 & 24 at 7 PM.

Savonlinna Opera Festival returns to Olavinlinna to celebrate its 115th anniversary with a summer full of music, drama, and timeless stories.

This season brings together powerful classics and beloved favourites:

⚔️ Andrea Chénier takes us into the heart of the French Revolution — a world of love, politics, and survival in extreme times.
✂️ The Barber of Seville returns with humour, speed, and charm under fresh creative interpretation.
🪈 The Magic Flute transforms Olavinlinna into a dreamlike fairy-tale universe full of magic and wonder.
🌹 Carmen returns with the Estonian National Opera, celebrating 40 years since their first international guest appearance at Olavinlinna.
🎤 The Timo Mustakallio Singing Competition showcases the rising stars of opera.
