ISNI on kansainvälinen, yksilöivä tunnus, joka auttaa erottamaan esimerkiksi samannimiset henkilöt toisistaan. Tunnus tukee tekijätiedon luotettavuutta, helpottaa korvausten kohdentamista oikein ja sujuvoittaa tiedonkulkua Kuvaston ja teosten käyttäjien välillä. 💡

✨Introducing the curators behind 𝒪𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝒲𝑒 𝒮𝑒𝑒 𝐼𝓉 ✨

Inna Schwanck is an independent curator with a background in art history. Her work centers on building dialogues and story-led experiences while bringing new voices into contemporary art spaces.

Polina Joffe is a creative director and typographic designer working between Berlin and Helsinki. Her approach to curating is shaped by an engagement with visual language, spatial storytelling, and the way design frames perception.

Together, we’ve shaped 𝒪𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝒲𝑒 𝒮𝑒𝑒 𝐼𝓉 as an invitation to look closer and consider how what we see, or miss, transforms the way we make sense of the world.

Lämpimästi tervetuloa viettämään 𝒪𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝒲𝑒 𝒮𝑒𝑒 𝐼𝓉 -näyttelyn viimeistä viikonloppua lauantaina 30.8. Mustioon.

Taidetta, musiikkia ja artesaanijuomia! Tarjolla on ihana päivä Mustion linnan mailla näyttelykauden loppujuhlien merkeissä. Gallerian yhteydessä sijaitseva United Gypsies pienpanimon showroom tarjoilee oluita, siidereitä ja pizzaa. Päivän aikana voi myös eksyä Mustion linnan kauniisiin puutarhoihin piknikille tai kävelyretkille. Luvassa myös elävää musiikkia!

💧Meet the artists: Eetu Sihvonen

Eetu Sihvonen (b. 1994, Kotka, Finland) lives and works in Helsinki. They often work with traditional materials such as wood and metal, as well as 3D printing and animation. Sihvonen merges these processes into installations and singular works, which are informed by traditional handicraft techniques, storytelling, and the world of role-playing games. Their works have been previously exhibited in the Gaa Gallery, New York, US, Community Centre, Paris, France; Holešovická Šachta, Prague, Czech Republic; and Pitted Dates, Helsinki, Finland.

✨ 𝒪𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝒲𝑒 𝒮𝑒𝑒 𝐼𝓉 is on view at Gallery Bässen until August 30.

🪞Meet the artists: Ida Koitila

Ida Koitila (b.1983) lives and works in Hanko. She graduated from the Master of Fine Arts program in Helsinki in 2011. By combining materials and objects with linguistic and cultural concepts, Koitila explores human biological, intellectual, and cultural evolution. She dissects the human identity and examines its bodily components, often from the perspective of ongoing physical or mental illnesses.

Koitila has exhibited at: Galleria Sculptor, Helsinki 2025, Galerie Anhava, Helsinki 2025, Skulptur i Pilane, Tjörn, Sweden 2024, Borgå Triennal, Porvoo 2024, Vidunderligheter, Borås Konstmuseum, Borås, Sweden 2022, Extensions, Sinne, Helsinki 2019, Crash of Air, Finnland-Institut, Berlin, Germany 2015, Time that Remains, Helsinki Contemporary, Helsinki 2014. Koitila is part of the group exhibition Morbus currently shown at Villa Gyllenberg in Helsinki.

🐚 Meet the artists: Taru Happonen

Taru Happonen (b. 1989, Lahti) is a Helsinki-based visual artist working with painting and sculpture. Influenced by natural sciences and science fiction, her work often incorporates recurring surfaces and structures found in nature. Different layers have been peeled into view.

She explores a complex, ever-changing world from both cosmic and microscopic perspectives, employing a diverse range of materials. Organic and synthetic elements are intricately intertwined.

Her artworks emphasize the significance of wonder, portraying the world as both intricate and in constant flux. The interplay of surfaces, forms, and materials in her pieces creates connections, highlighting the unity of life, continuity, and the deep layers of time.

She earned a Master’s degree in 2023 from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Helsinki. Her works are included in the collections of Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, HAM Helsinki Art Museum, the Finnish State Art Deposit Collection, and the HUS Art Collection.

🫧 Meet the artists: Riikka Anttonen

Riikka Anttonen is a Helsinki-based visual artist working in the expanded field of sculpture. Their space-sensitive works combine sculptural elements with marble mosaic and relief surfaces. Anttonen works through the lens of q***r experience, with a recurring theme of metamorphosis. Their works often combine references to ancient Roman times into fantasies of worlds that defy easy categorization. They hold an MFA degree from the University of the Arts, Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, and an MA degree from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture.

✨ 𝒪𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝒲𝑒 𝒮𝑒𝑒 𝐼𝓉 is still on at Gallery Bässen until August 30! Open Wed 16-22, Thu-Sat 14-22.
