Another beautiful love story from this summer 💛

Lyyti and Simranjit’s wedding weekend began with some rain, but when their big day arrived, the clouds finally parted and the sun came out, giving them the perfect afternoon to celebrate by the lake.

The ceremony took place on our beach, followed by a beautiful celebration under the terrace tent, where guests enjoyed a delicious meal surrounded by the summer scenery.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing a few glimpses of our summer here at Villa Stenberg.

We've had the honor of hosting so many beautiful celebrations, each with its own unique story.

One of them was Erika & Pieter's special day, where they celebrated not just one, but two unforgettable milestones: their wedding and the baptism of their baby. They exchanged their vows by the lakeside before celebrating with family and friends on our sunlit terrace.

10 years ago, we hosted the very first wedding at Villa Stenberg. The story behind it was one we never could have imagined.

It all began with an unexpected inquiry from an Australian couple who had discovered us on Airbnb.

Ben and Jess had won the Australian Wife Carrying Championship and were travelling to Finland to compete in the World Championship in Sonkajärvi. They decided to make their Finnish adventure even more unforgettable by getting married at Villa Stenberg.

Their unique story caught the attention of the Finnish media and, for us, it marked the beginning of our journey as a wedding venue.

Over the years, Villa Stenberg has grown and transformed. The lakeside ceremony spot was created, the Beach House became part of the estate, the terrace tent was added, and our old barn was renovated into a beautiful space for celebrations and gatherings.

Looking back over the last decade, we have had the honour of welcoming more than 150 couples from Finland and around 20 other countries. Just this past weekend, we hosted a wedding where the groom's family travelled here from South Africa.

One of the greatest joys of hosting weddings is seeing families and friends gather from around the world to spend an entire weekend together. With accommodation on the estate, loved ones have the chance to reconnect, celebrate, and create lasting memories together.

We are deeply grateful to every couple who has chosen Villa Stenberg as the place to begin their next chapter. Thank you for filling this place with love and joy.

🌿 Kiitos Avoimet Puutarhat -päivän vierailijoille 🌿

Sunnuntaina Villa Stenberg osallistui ensimmäistä kertaa Avoimet Puutarhat -päivään. Olemme rakentaneet puutarhaa noin kymmenen vuotta ja vasta nyt tuntui siltä, että se oli valmis avattavaksi vierailijoille osana tätä yhteisöllistä tapahtumaa. Vaikka sää tarjoili vähän väliä sadekuuroja, puutarhan ystävät eivät antaneet sen hidastaa. Vierailijoita saapui jopa pyöräillen, ja moni totesikin hymyillen, ettei puutarhaihminen säikähdä pientä sadetta ☔️

Päivän aikana oli ilo nähdä, kuinka moni kiersi puutarhan lisäksi myös kaikki rakennukset ja pysähtyi ihastelemaan niiden tunnelmaa ja sisustuksia. Saimme valtavan määrän lämmintä palautetta niin puutarhasta, miljööstä kuin kokonaisuudestakin. Jokainen kaunis sana lämmitti mieltä. Liian usein oma katse suuntautuu keskeneräisiin kohtiin tai uusiin suunnitelmiin, m***a tämä päivä antoi mahdollisuuden pysähtyä iloitsemaan siitä, mitä kymmenessä vuodessa on syntynyt.

Puutarhakierroksen jälkeen moni jäi vielä nauttimaan Magia Cateringin pop-up-ravintolan herkullisista antimista. Hyvän ruoan, kiireettömän tunnelman ja mukavien keskustelujen ansiosta päivästä muodostui juuri sellainen kuin olimme toivoneet.

Villa Stenbergin puutarha avaa porttinsa! 🌸

Tervetuloa tutustumaan puutarhaan, jossa historiallinen maatilamiljöö, huolella uudistettu rakennuskanta ja Lohjanjärven upeat maisemat muodostavat ainutlaatuisen kokonaisuuden.

Kierroksen aikana pääset kokemaan näyttävän itämaisen Chinoiserie-puutarhan, laajat hortensiaistutukset, kauniit pergolat sekä luonnonkivillä rakennetut pengerrykset, jotka sulautuvat ympäröivään maisemaan.

Vierailun kruunaa "vuoren" huipulla sijaitseva kota, josta avautuvat henkeäsalpaavat näkymät Lohjanjärvelle.

Tapahtumapäivänä alueella palvelee myös Magia Cateringin pop-up-ravintola, jossa voit nauttia herkullisen lounaan juhlateltassa puutarhakierroksen lomassa 🍰

Together with Mari from Magia Catering, we're now offering our guests a new fireside dining experience.

Follow the forest path to our grilling hut, where Mari creates a seasonal meal over an open fire using carefully selected local ingredients. Think wild mushrooms, fresh herbs, locally sourced fish, seasonal vegetables, homemade breads, and coffee enjoyed by the flames.

Watch the meal come to life over the fire, take in the lake views, dine in the fresh forest air, and forget everything else for a moment.

This experience is the perfect addition to corporate retreats, celebrations, family gatherings, or vacations at Villa Stenberg. Available as both lunch and dinner, depending on the season.

✨The wedding season at Villa Stenberg has officially begun✨

Over the past few weeks, preparations around the estate have been in full swing. Our terrace tent has been put up, table decorations carefully prepared, and vines added to our ceremony arches. Every detail is now in place for what promises to be an unforgettable 2026 wedding season.
