DELIBERATE MISCARRIAGE

Deliberate Miscarriage is a power trio balancing on the edge of tech death and brutal death metal, musically reminiscent at times of Gorerotted and at others of Pestilence. Their lyrics bring plenty of creative themes to the table, as the title Fresh Abortion Smoothie might already suggest. Groovy, heavy, and respectful of the art of masochistic ma********on.
With these guys, we think this is actually the first time we’re bringing a band to Kuopio that has never played even in Finland before. Anyway, give their debut, Mortuary Melodies, a listen and picture yourself enjoying their hard driving with an ice-cold beer in your hand.

WINTERWOLF

How do you feel about HM-2’S again? If that tickles your fancy at all, you might be interested in checking out Winterwolf at Kuolio. The band that eventually morphed into DEATHCHAIN around 2001, before reawakening in 2009 for the release of Cycle of the Werewolf, after which they returned to their uneasy slumber. Then, in 2019, they awoke again, released Lycantrophic Metal of Death and proceeded to bludgeon the audiences.

The ripping claws of this particular lycanthrope are carved from influences of the finest tradition of late 80’s/early 90’s death metal from our western neighbour, carrying some remarks from Nihilist, Carnage, Grave, Dismember and the like proudly. Although, obviously, when you have an unhinged maniacs like Co**se and Abomanitor responsible for the strings, you know you get some unexpected solutions in the realm of string wizardry.

This show is special, since Rotten (original vocalist from Winterwolf and Deathchain) has joined the ranks again, marking first time in around 15 years where they share a stage together!

LINEUP UPDATE II

One more change to the Kuolio II roster.

Joining us is SCYTHROW, who will bring their ferocious brand of violence to Wanha Satama. Finding a young band capable of delivering this level of relentless intensity isn't easy, but we're confident SCYTHROW will leave no eardrum unpunished.

On the same note, due to personal reasons, WARFARE NOISE unfortunately won't be able to appear at Kuolio Fest II. We wish them all the best and hope to have the opportunity to work together at a future Kuolio event.

Please welcome SCYTHROW to the lineup. Prepare for a blunt force trauma. With this, we see the lineup final and complete. Thank you.

LINEUP UPDATE
Another crushing addition joins the Kuolio II lineup.

Stepping in is DISGRAVE from Helsinki, bringing their filthy HM-2 death 'n' roll to Wanha Satama. Their chainsaw tone, heavy grooves and uncompromising live assault make them a perfect fit for what we're building, and we're extremely happy to have them on board.

Unfortunately, due to personal and boring adult reasons and a quota on HM-2 use on stage, NERVE SAW will no longer be able to perform at Kuolio II. Hopefully we'll get to welcome them to a future Kuolio event under better conditions next year.

Now, give DISGRAVE a warm Kuolio welcome.

HEADLINER UPDATE

We regret to inform that CONCRETE WINDS is unable to play Kuolio Fest II due to some of life's more mundane realities getting in the way of them being here and playing the show as planned.
Obviously, this is a letdown for everyone: for them, because they won't get to play for the Kuopio faithful, and for you who were eager to see them tear down Wanha Satama. But such is life. S**t happens, and you move on.

And go on we did because we already have a replacement act that should tickle the naughty bits of you depraved gorefiends. Active for 20+ years and having wrecked stages near and far, we give you:

SEQUESTRUM

Sequestrum oozed into existence in 2021, being composed of the death metal stalwarts of Copenhagen, and swiftly proceeded to spread their fetid musical mulch with several demos and ep’s. On the strength of these efforts it was a bit of a no-brainer to get these guys over. Pick up any of their releases, limber up your neck and prepare to be swallowed by their rank rockers, which add goregrind influences into mid tempo death metal, which will turn that smile of yours upside down, get your head nodding and feet tapping.

This is the musical equivalent of watching lobotomized monkeys imitating an autopsy while splashing rancid innards at the heads of vomiting, horrified on-lookers. It’s a pulsating, heaving mass of disgusting, pulsating filth that will get you moving. Provided, of course, you still have a pulse. We're not sure if we do.

Death Thrashers Kuopio

Here’s a blast from the rotten past: Death Thrashers Kuopio unites for one more onslaught! Originally spawned from the slimy depts of Kallavesi during the early 2000’s, this titanic trio of Savonian madmen conjured forth several demos of primitive, rabid death/thrash and played shows that came to have a legendary reputation due to their wild, unpredictable nature.

Yet alas, this band eventually died a slow death, when Cruciatus started Lantern, Noisehunter gravitated towards Flame and Wicked Ischanius no longer could keep his fascination towards ye olde heavy metal under wraps.

After withering away to welcoming arms of holy death, the co**se has been summoned several times to appear, with lessening frequency. Will this be the last time? Time shall tell, but the likelihood of them appearing ever again after this is quite slim. So come and witness this relentless & necrosounding deaththrash whirlwind!
