Look Within - Forest Glade

This installation marks a turning point in my artistic path.

For many years, my work lived on paper. Ink, acrylic, threads of lines searching for what cannot be seen but can be felt. Later came the birds in three dimensions. Small steps outward from the surface. But creating Look Within - Forest Glade meant stepping into the space itself. It meant allowing the work to surround the viewer instead of staying on the wall.

For me, creating this installation was a leap. A step from image into environment, from object into experience. It is the largest and most significant work I have created so far. Not because of its size, but because it required trust. Trust in the work. Trust in the silence. Trust in allowing space itself to become part of the expression.

Look Within - Forest Glade is an invitation. Not to look at something, but to enter a space and simply be.

A subtle soundscape of birdsong and distant fire is activated as the visitor steps into the glade, becoming part of the spatial experience.

Some say the rainforest is the lungs of the Earth. Others say it is its memory.

This painting is a quiet tribute to the forest’s breath, to all that lives, quietly or wildly, woven together in ways we do not always see. A celebration of life’s diversity, not as something extra, but as something essential.

Without this multitude of life, we cannot survive. And yet, even if we could, what would remain?

A parrot moves across the painting, glowing with hues of pink and yellow, suspended in flight. She has no eyes, no name. She does not ask to be understood. She simply is. Not a messenger this time, but a witness. A vivid presence that reminds us:
life matters, just because it lives.

In many cultures, the parrot has been seen as a voice-giver, one that reflects, that remembers, that repeats truths we may have forgotten. A creature of language and light. Here, she speaks through colour alone, carrying no message but presence itself.

Behind her, ink threads stretch across the background like quiet roots or veins. For me, these are the threads of life, invisible, yet always there. And the splashes of colour that rise around her are like ripples in water. We swim through this world, and the world responds. Even our smallest movement leaves a mark. We shape the world by existing in it.

This painting does not call for change or action. It only invites one small remembering:

That being is enough.
That every breath belongs.
That all life, seen and unseen, is part of the same great thread.

The blackbird has long been described as a bird of dusk and dawn, of thresholds and unseen worlds.

In its dark wings lies a presence that does not shout, but whispers. A song that is not meant to entertain, but to draw attention inward.

In folklore, the blackbird was believed to move between realms. Its presence in this painting is not accidental. It suggests that orientation often comes in subtle forms. Through intuition, through silence, through the quiet pulse of life itself.

The bird’s song is not for the crowd. It is an inner call. A thread that leads us inward, away from the noise, toward the still voice that has always been there.

Beneath the blackbird’s wing, there is shelter but also mystery. The shelter is not to keep us from the world, but to give us space to listen. To sense what waits in the shadows, and to recognize that understanding can appear in unexpected forms, sometimes subtle, sometimes bright.

This painting speaks of trust. Of daring to turn toward the unseen. Of letting the blackbird lead us, not with certainty, but with presence. It is a meditation on the courage to listen, not to what the world demands, but to what stirs quietly beneath the surface of our own perception.

Beneath the Blackbird’s Wing is an invitation.

To pause.
To listen.
To notice what may already be rising from within.

Two small bodies cross a sky that seems to remember fire.

They do not rush. They do not escape. They pass through, as if the air itself is something to be read rather than fled. Their wings hold a quiet certainty, a direction that needs no explanation.

Behind them, the atmosphere glazes in embers and soot. Dark, veinlike formations stretch through the orange haze, like roots, like fractures, like threads of something living beneath the surface. This is a sky filled with memory. A sky where what has been and what will be can be felt.

The wagtails move through this space as carriers of something unseen. They are small, yet unwavering. Alert, attentive, listening. Their presence is not dramatic, but precise. They seem to sense messages moving between root and sky, between what has fallen and what is about to rise.

Their communication is quieter than sound. It exists in movement, in direction, in the gentle insistence of continuing forward. They embody resilience without display, courage without spectacle, and a lightness that does not deny the weight of what surrounds them.

In their silent crossing there is a reminder that even in landscapes marked by fire, life does not only survive. It listens. It adapts. It carries forward what cannot be spoken in words.

And somewhere in their passage, there is a rhythm the world still remembers.

Five flycatchers scatter across a sky of layered gold, moss, and shadow. They do not move in unison, nor do they follow a map we can read. Their paths cross and break apart, vanishing into places beyond our sight, returning to where they began as if nothing had changed. Yet everything has.

This work is inspired by the spotted flycatcher, a bird that waits, watches, and moves only when the moment is right. Unassuming in appearance, it carries the kind of strength that does not shout. It lives in stillness until action becomes inevitable, and then it moves with quiet precision.

In their erratic dance, these birds speak of the unseen forces that shape us, choices made in silence, the pauses that change everything, the invisible threads between departure and return.

The ink lines ripple like nerves or roots or fleeting thoughts, binding space without claiming it. Around them, fragments of light fall like moments remembered, never announced but deeply felt.

This piece is a reminder that what seems small may hold the greatest power. That what is easily overlooked can carry the clearest truth.
