The best entertainment projects start with the right people around the table: Operators know their guests. Designers know how to make the most of a space. Builders understand what it takes to bring the plans to life. And attraction providers bring experience in how people actually use and interact with the concept.

When everyone works together early, it's easier to avoid surprises during installation and create an experience that fits the venue. This becomes even more valuable when the same concept needs to work across multiple locations.

At CSE, we value working closely with design and build partners to make active entertainment easier to plan, deliver and scale.

A great example is this venue concept from our reseller, 3e60 srl, showing how iWall can become part of a thoughtfully designed entertainment space.

An attraction might be a great fit for one hotel. But what happens when you want it in 10?

That's when the questions change.

Guests still need to enjoy the experience, of course. But hotel groups also need to know that installation, training and support can work consistently across properties.

A successful pilot is a good starting point. It shows how guests respond and how the concept fits into everyday hotel operations.

At CSE, we see real-world pilots as an important step toward wider hospitality rollouts. They give operators something concrete to evaluate before making a larger commitment.

Because a concept that works for guests also needs to work for the people running the hotel.

Not everyone plays to win. And that's a good thing.

Some guests love a little competition. Others enjoy playing together, beating their own score or simply having fun with friends.

For entertainment operators, this variety matters. Your guests have different interests, ages and reasons to participate.

That's why game variety is so important in active entertainment. Different games give more people a reason to join in, without making the experience complicated.

And sometimes, all it takes is one good round to make someone want another.

What gets your guests coming back for another game: competition, teamwork or beating their own score?

Planning a hotel refurbishment or a new property? It's a good time to think beyond how the space will look.

What will guests actually do there?

A quiet corner could become a place for families to play together. An underused area could offer something more than extra seating.

These opportunities are much easier to explore during the design phase than after opening.

That's why we believe active entertainment should be part of the conversation early, alongside interior design, AV and other guest experience decisions.

Not to design a hotel around an attraction, but to find the right experience for the space and the guests who will use it.

Would you still buy the attraction if you knew you had to install it in 20 locations?

That question changes the evaluation quickly. At one location, almost anything can be made to work. At fifty, complexity becomes expensive.

Training matters.
Installation matters.
Support matters.
Content updates matter.
Consistency matters.

And the guest experience still has to feel just as good at location twenty as it did at the pilot. That's why chain operators need to evaluate more than the attraction itself.

They need to evaluate the operating model around it.

Can it be standardized?
Can local teams understand it quickly?
Can performance be followed?
Can support work across locations?
Can the experience stay fresh without rebuilding it?

Scalability is not what happens after a successful product. It's something that needs to be designd into the concept from the beginning.

Thank you to everyone we met at The Lodging Conference this week, and to the organisers for a fantastic event!

One player had an extra reason to smile: a hole-in-one in iWall’s Golf game and some “iWall Oil” as a prize! Take a look at the last photo to see a happy winner ⛳🏆

We’ve enjoyed meeting new people, catching up with familiar faces and talking about where active entertainment could fit into hotels and resorts. If we started a conversation with you, we’d love to keep it going.

When we think about what we want to bring to a hotel stay, it’s often the small moments: a child persuading a parent to join a game, siblings having another go before dinner, or a family finding something fun to do on a rainy afternoon.

For guests, it’s a chance to spend time together and perhaps try something they wouldn’t usually do. For the hotel, it needs to feel at home in the space and be straightforward for the team to run.

That’s what we work towards at CSE: active entertainment that fits the property and gives guests something they’ll remember with a smile.

Thanks again for a great week. We look forward to staying in touch!

Some days, you can tell how an attraction is doing just by watching the floor. Other times, it helps to look at the numbers.

That’s especially true when you’re running several venues and can’t be everywhere yourself.

Usage data can help you see the busiest times, follow changes in participation and compare locations. But it’s often a conversation with the local team that helps explain what you’re seeing.

Maybe a group visit made Tuesday unusually busy. Perhaps an attraction is easy to miss in one location. Or the team tried a challenge that got more people involved.

Looking at both gives you a better starting point for deciding what to try next, whether that’s a promotion during quieter hours or something that worked well at another venue.

CSE customers can access their attraction usage information through the CSE Partner Portal. It’s a useful way to keep track of what’s happening and bring more context to conversations with your teams.

If you tried a new guest entertainment concept in your hotel for 90 days, what would you want to know before deciding to keep it?

Usage would probably be on the list. But a busy attraction doesn’t tell you everything.

You’d also want to know who was playing, whether families came back for another go and what guests said about it. And your team would have a few practical questions of their own: did it fit into the daily routine? How often did someone need help? Was it a good use of the space?

Those details help you decide whether something works for your property.

At CSE, we believe there’s a lot to learn from testing active entertainment in a real hotel. Guests use things in ways you might not expect, and staff notice things that numbers alone won’t show.

Before introducing a concept across more properties, it helps to give guests and the team time to try it.

What would you most want to learn from a 90-day pilot?

Five minutes of waiting can feel very different when guests have something to do together.

Hospitality contains hundreds of small transitions.

Before dinner.
Before check-in.
Between activities.
While one family member gets ready.
During a rainy afternoon at a resort.

None of these moments needs another major attraction. Sometimes the opportunity is simply to turn passive time into shared time.

A short active play experience can give children and parents something to do together without asking the hotel team to organize an activity.

That is a small change in the guest journey, but memorable stays are often built from small moments.

These were exactly the kinds of opportunities we explored with visitors during a successful few days at the Hotel & Resort Innovation Expo in London.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to play, and talk about what active play could bring to their venue!
