Time to cast on summer socks!

These fingering-weight socks are a delightful knitting project. The lace pattern is so addictive that you may find yourself knitting “just one more repeat” before putting the socks down.

The socks are worked from the cuff down, beginning with a ribbed cuff for a neat and comfortable fit. The lace pattern continues down the leg and over the instep, while the heel and the ball of the foot are worked in reinforced stitch patterns for added durability.

Wearing my Clair Tee today! 🤎

I paired it with this satin skirt today. I really like the contrast between the soft knitted texture and the slightly more polished feel of the skirt.

Summer has been quite cold in Finland so far, so there haven’t been many warm-weather days for wearing proper summer knits. But this kind of lightweight tee works well under a jacket even when the weather is not exactly summery.

Today was all about knitting with friends. Since it was a rainy day, we stayed indoors and enjoyed good company.

I currently have two designs in the making, both full of texture: one is covered in cables, and the other in lace. Both designs have been slowly growing for months, and for the cable one I’m lucky to have some knitting help. 🤍

Both patterns will be released sometime later this year, and I’ll be calling for testers in a few weeks.

Pattern release day, yay! Lilacs Socks are here! 💜

Lilacs Socks are delicate cuff-down socks worked in fingering-weight sock yarn. The design features an easy lace pattern on the leg and instep, paired with a traditional flap-and-gusset heel. The heel is worked in reinforced knitting, with extra reinforcement added to the ball of the foot for durability. I have also made a tutorial on both reinforced knitting techniques used in this pattern. The tutorial can be found on my YouTube channel.

Three summer tops to cast on: Summer Breeze Top, Summer Haze Top and Lilacs Top.

Each of these designs has its own character and carefully considered details, so the choice depends on what kind of project you are looking for.

Summer Breeze Top is light and wearable, with a clean look and details that make the knitting interesting.
Summer Haze Top is a circular yoke top-down piece, but still with a structured and polished finish.
Lilacs Top brings in lace texture and detail, making it a good choice if you enjoy a little extra interest in the fabric.

🧶 Yarn: Reborn Denim Uni

My hand is still bothering me, so sometimes I simply have to choose smaller, more manageable knitting projects.

I’ve started a pair of socks and am experimenting with extra loops to create an additional layer of yarn, and hopefully a little more warmth. I also wanted to see how this colourway would behave in this type of stitch pattern, and it seems to be working beautifully.

Summer Breeze Top 🧡

Summer Breeze Top is a simple, lightweight summer top worked seamlessly from the top down. The design is very minimal, and the main fabric is plain stockinette stitch, including some applied I-cord finishing, tutorial included!
