This week soprano Silja Aalto performs Ralph Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra in Tartu, Pärnu and Tallinn under the direction of Kaspar Mänd.

Following performances in Tartu and Pärnu earlier this week, the concert series concludes tonight at Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn. The performance will also be broadcast on the radio.

Chordus artist Maria Turunen makes her debut as Eboli in Verdi’s Don Carlos, marking both her first appearance in the role and her debut with Tampere Opera.

The production is part of Tampere Opera’s 80th anniversary season and runs for six performances.

We are delighted to see Maria in this remarkable Verdi role.

🔪 Thrilled to share that two Chordus artists will take part in Tampere Opera’s production of Sweeney Todd! 💈

Tampere Opera presents Stephen Sondheim’s modern musical classic Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street as a staged and visually enriched concert version. This captivating tale of revenge and meat pies will be performed in Finnish, with translations by Juice Leskinen, on January 8–10, 2026 at Tampere Hall. ❣️

The horror musical’s soloist roles feature some of the brightest stars of the musical and opera worlds:

✨ Martti Manninen (Anthony Hope)
✨ Marika Hölttä (Johanna Barker)

✨ Essi Luttinen (The Beggar Woman / Lucy Barker)
✨ Dan Karlström (Adolfo Pirelli)

The show is directed by Tuomas Parkkinen. Costume design is by Anna Sinkkonen, and lighting design by Ville Syrjä. The 50-member Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Eeva Kontu. The Tampere Opera ensemble choir assembled for the production is being coached by Heikki Liimola and Kalle Ruusukallio. 🎵
