organized The Dot Dot Drama Showcase in Helsinki April 15-18, bringing 30 international theatre professional from 14 countries to experience Finnish Comtemporary theatre at its best.

Our executive producer & curator Mirkka Maikola and artistic director Essi Rossi presented Viirus’ international touring productions. Our resident playwright Pipsa Lonka also shared a little taste of what’s coming for Viirus’ 40th year anniversary play. Viirus’ production Versailles took the international guests to the dirt and splendour of the Louis the XIV’s court ⚜️

Join us when we discuss the process and the different decisions behind Swedish As***le next Monday, the 23rd of March right after the performance (approximately 8.10pm) 💥

The performer/directors Johanna Karlberg, Antonia Atarah and Alen Nsambu are joined by performance dramaturg Even Minn. The discussion is moderated by Teater Viirus’ theatre pedagogue Marja Vuori.

The discussion will be held in the gallery-foyer at Teater Viirus right after the performance. You are welcome to join us even if you saw the performance another time. Free entry to the discussion, performance requires a ticket.

The discussion will be held in English and it lasts approximately 45min. Welcome! ✨

What happens when four artists from different countries, with different artistic backgrounds, are invited to Viirus to collaborate on a stage creation? The main production of autumn 2026 is an exceptional piece on Viirus’ stage, created by choreographer Jenni-Elina von Bagh (FIN), multidisciplinary artist Majula Drammeh (SE), visual and performance artist Nastja Säde Rönkkö (FIN) and theater director Gosia Wdowik (PL).   The four artists have begun working in the fall of 2025 with lighting designer Katinka Ebbe, sound designer Pauli Riikonen, scenographer Fabian Nyberg, costume designer Autuas Ukkonen and the Viirus ensemble.

Vad händer när fyra konstnärer från olika länder, med olika konstnärlig bakgrund, bjuds in till Viirus för att arbeta tillsammans och dela en gemensam scen? I huvudproduktionen under hösten 2026 skapar koreografen Jenni-Elina von Bagh (FIN), mångkonstnären Majula Drammeh (SE), bild- och performancekonstnären Nastja Säde Rönkkö (FIN) samt teaterregissören Gosia Wdowik (PL) ett exceptionellt verk för Viirus scen.

Konstnärerna påbörjade arbetet hösten 2025 tillsammans med ljusdesigner Katinka Ebbe, scenograf Fabian Nyberg, ljuddesigner Pauli Riikonen, kostymdesigner Autuas Ukkonen samt Viirus skådespelarensemble.

Efter föreställningsperioden på Viirus planeras en internationell turné.
