Teatterilla on kaksi näyttämöä: Lenkkiteatterin Boxi – näyttämö on intiimi, 40 katsojaa sisäänsä sulkeva teatteri. Vahvasti yleisötyöhön nojaava teatteri sijoittuu Helsingin Malminkartanossa sijaitsevaan Piianpuistoon. Lenkkiteatterin toinen näyttämö, Lenkkiteatterin tapahtumateltta sijaitsee kevät- ja kesäkaudella Helsingin keskuspuistossa, Maunulan ulkoilumajalla. Lenkkiteatteri on toteuttanut
kaksi kokoillan teatterituotantoa tapahtumateltassa sekä pienempiä esityskokonaisuuksia Boxi -näyttämöllä. Lisäksi Lenkkiteatteri on tuottanut kahta improvisaatioklubia, lastenteatteria, tapahtumia, neliosaisen yhteisöteatterihankkeen, draama- ja liiketyöpajoja sekä koulutusta niin alan ammattilaisille kuin kaikille alasta kiinnostuneille. Lenkkiteatteri is a free professional theatre company established in 2009. The theatre has two stages: Lenkkiteatteri’s Boxi stage is an intime black box theatre space with possibility of 40 seats. This venue reclining strongly on community theatre and audience development is placed in protected Piianpuisto Park in Malminkartano, Helsinki. Lenkkiteatteri’s another stage, Lenkkiteatteri marquee, is placed during spring and summer seasons in the Central Park in Helsinki at Maunula outdoor cottage. The program of the marquee combines the joy of sports and a full-evening length theatre performance experience into a fresh entity. Lenkkiteatteri has carried out two whole-evening theatre productions in the marquee and smaller performances at Boxi stage. Lenkkiteatteri has also been producing two improvisation theatre clubs, children’s theatre, events, a four-part community theatre project and a 1-hour long document film about the project, drama and movement workshops and schooling for professionals in the performing arts field and for everyone else interested as well. Lenkkiteatteri accomplishes diverse audience development work and carries out touring activities. The theatre is upheld by Pitkäkosken Lenkkiteatteri ry. PROGRAM AUTUMN 2012
The main production in Lenkkiteatteri autumn 2012 (premiere Nov 10th) is Yhä pimenevä talo (Still darkling house) by Kristian Smeds. The performance is adapted and will be directed by Maria Hyökyvaara. The performance explores the forms of narcissism and the abuse of sexual power in a family focusing on a mentally and physically incestuous relationship between a mother and son. The performance is a part of Lenkkiteatteri’s three-part sexual education project targeted for 15-25 -year old young people. The drama workshops that dive into an investigation of wholeness in sexual identity and the growth of it are one part of the project. After the drama workshops in the last phase of the project the young people will meet Nektaria ry’s sexual education professionals Susanna Ruuhilahti and Juha Kilpiä with a fresh way of approaching the theme.
