Nuua Company’s new project DISPLAY,
Co-produced with EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art and Agit-Cirk

It's a performance, an exhibition and an open invitation to share and collaborate.

Display is a project merging contemporary circus and visual art, exploring new forms and new collaborations between circus and fine art venues. The concept of the show is us building an art exhibition on stage. In the hands of two jugglers, both the arrangement of artworks and the mechanisms used to display them become the material of the performance itself. They become part of light, poetic, and at times even comical situations. The show is accompanied by live music from Konsta Leinonen, the piece finishes with the exhibition that the audience is invited to explore.

We are very happy to welcome Jakob Jakobsson to Helsinki next week! Together with Teo Lanerva and Viivi Roiha, Jakob will be working on his project Insomnia Cirko - Center for New Circus.

Insomnia is a circus performance in the borderland between contemporary circus and light design, and explores our relationship to time, how subjective it is, and the value we place on it. Using stroboscopic lights and aerial rope, Insomnia creates fragmented images that challenge both time and gravity.

Nuua is one of the proud co-producers of this work, that is one of the finalists of Circus Next 2025. The team is sharing their project on 2nd of December at 15:00 at Cirko, Helsinki. Join us to see the project off to it's final destination in Belgium, where Insomnia will premier Cirkolabo Festival on 17th of December.

Let's continue meeting the team of Blueberry Burdock! 🫐 Tampere-based musician Konsta Leinonen combines his experience from both stage and studio to find new ways to express his views on (post-)modern life in the form of sound and music. In his work in the contemporary circus, Leinonen merges the boundaries of live performance and electronic music, enjoying close collaboration with artists.

Last week we had the pleasure of visiting Tanssiteatteri Minimi in Kuopion kaupunginteatteri with Blueberry Burdock! 🫐The visit was made possible by generous support by the New Classics foundation.
