SOUVENIRS FROM SHIGARAKI

Welcome to opening this Friday 4.4. at 17:00–20:00

Souvenirs from Shigaraki is a collection of sculptures that playfully depict everyday life in rural Japan. Functioning as visual diary entries, the sculptures encapsulate the details seen through a newcomer’s eye. The collection includes observations such as a small air conditioner, a peacock in a cage, plastic packaging, a nuclear power plant, and a bread clip.

”LITTLENESS pienuus ちっぽけさ Exploring the ordinary”published by .fi now available at in Paris, in Helsinki and selected shops in Japan.

Littleness is a collaborative project between designer and creative , and photographer .
Beyond the evident attraction Japan and Finland share in design and art scenes, Littleness rather explores this subliminal bond in a personal and intuitive way, through texts and photographs.

According to Elisa and Juho, the fundamental humble attitude both cultures have adopted towards Nature is at the origin of common behaviors, and sensitivities. Blending daily scenes from Japan and Finland, Littleness invites people to feel this implicit bond in a personal way, and in a broader way, invites to see and feel surroundings as part of a common share.
