What I learned was that true evil has a lot to learn from the righteous people who live their lives with a hand on a holy book.

A show of a century! He could see it from their eyes, it was like a fire was burning in their souls. The clapping sounded like a thunderstorm. A firm bow, but the kind which showed them that he was merely a humble performer. The roar faded away, and the crowd was gone.. That night, the greatest show was not performed on the stage, but in the mind of the only one there, the mad performer.

Now when you mentioned it, yes, there was something odd about her. I remember shaking her hand once, when I was just a little girl. I remember that she was looking at my hand for a long time, not letting go - It was like she was looking at my veins, my blood going through them, like she was listening my heart with her eyes. This all makes sense now, after hearing about all those people she killed.

The story goes that there is another world somewhere beneath us and there are spots where “Unintended Exchange” happens. People, animals, even buildings are sucked into the earth, and also, odd things emerge from there to our soil. I found one of these places, where the fabric is thin and the worlds are close to each other. I witnessed things disappearing, and strange things appearing - it seems that a balance must be kept.

The engineer knew quickly where the fault was. He took pride knowing the intricate beauty of the system - he felt the word silently with his tongue - system - with hundreds of connecting valves, gates and delicate steering mechanisms. Under the glass ceiling, he was doing his work, which for an outsider would look like a dance of engineering Gods.

For me, there is no time, just some minor events which are lost in the endless series of events. What a hollow life - even ghostly some could say.

Many things are buried under these holy structures – men and women, remnants of churches which used to stand here, and secrets. Access is rarely given to the tunnels or crypts, where the evidence is stored. Hundreds of years of power and rule, hope and heresy, right under a simple structure. A church, for me, looks like a tip of an iceberg – Iceberg of unjust authority.

This place used to be called The Sanctuary. People would seek help, even rescue from here. Whether the problems were economical, physical or spiritual in nature, the doors would be open. But eventually a snake enters every garden. New owners took over, new modus operandi followed. Soon, help required sacrifice in return. Rules, secrets, power, obedience. The Sanctuary soon had another name - Reformatory.
