Sometimes you can sense it in the air - like ozone during a thunderstorm. It rises from underground where it has waited for the perfect moment, and climbs toward the bell tower. Birds disappear, and sinister things start to happen.

At first, they all were certain that someone was coming, soon. Who wouldn’t want to see this site - almost the eight wonder of the world, they thought.. Time passed by, and silent long walks on the beach became even longer. The Thought rooted and grew on their minds: Nobody was coming. Perhaps this place was nothing more than a monument for broken promises.

Strange. These stone figures were not the usual deities - Dionysus and Parthenon on mount Olympos. These were ordinary men and women, children reaching for an apple. A scythe, a washingboard, but so real. Who was the sculptor capable of such beauty? An ominous thought entered - had they always been statues?
