Ecocide: causing severe and either widespread or long-term damage to the environment Choirs for Ecocide Law - project started of the will to raise the awareness of this new powerful law-proposal, to let people know about it and start taking actions to demand the decision-makers (Governments of UN countries) to vote towards criminalizing ECOCIDE internationally. After signing a participation agreement, you and your choir can get the score PDFs and rehearsal files (mp3) through the app ChoirMate, or - if you prefer, you can download all materials yourself from our web-page www.stopecocide.earth/choirs folder and distribute among your choir singers. Something to know about Ecocide Law proposal? ECOCIDE means mass damage and destruction of ecosystems. Ecocide Law will make it a criminal offense to carry out reckless acts likely to cause serious harm to the environment. Decision makers responsible for oil spills, chemical disasters and massive plastic pollution, for example, will face legal action and may even face prison terms. Ecocide Law creates genuine motivation for positive change and innovation. It is the legal framework that investors, insurance companies and the world’s most polluting companies need – in order to accelerate their transition to green business models.

The piece We Used to Know is a song composed by Astrid Vang Pedersen for the concert Let’s Change the Rules. The piece incorporates elements from Song No. 1, Joik (composer Simon Issát Marainen).
The message of the song, “we used to know,” reflects a sense of lost wisdom—the human ability to live in balance as part of nature, a capacity we once possessed. Through its connection to Joik, the song seeks to highlight the wisdom of Indigenous peoples and the skills and traditions they have preserved, presenting them as an important source of insight for people today.

Listen to the fantastic version of song nr 6, with Simon Issát Marainen, EllyEve, Axel Berntzon and the great band led by Josef Sjöblom

Let´s Change the Rules concert materials —a collection of 15 songs
—are available free of charge to all singers and choirs who wish to raise awareness, through singing, about bringing ecocide under international criminal law.
