Get • To be presented by at TEFAF New York this week, Camilla Moberg’s ”Green Treasure II” is handcrafted in blown glass in Nuutajärvi, Finland’s oldest glassmaking village. The luminescent sculpture draws inspiration from the iridescent colors and patterns of insects and birds, celebrating their beauty while reflecting on the fragility of biodiversity.

Placing stones in formation is an ancient means of communication, used to greet, warn, advise, guide, and deliver important messages. Its luminous, stacked forms evoke a totem-like balance, symbolizing the delicate equilibrium between nature’s resilience and its urgent need for preservation. The work reminds us not to forget the small, often unseen forms of life that are nonetheless essential to our world.

Green Treasure received a great reception at PAD Paris last week.
Thank you and my glassmaking team in Finland.

The multicoloured glass shapes are artistic expressions of certain insects. I hope that my sculptures reminds us of nature’s splendor and fragility. They advice us not to forget the small creatures we don’t see but who are often the most important ones.

My glass sculptures are inspired by the colors and patterns of threatened animal species, such as Snowy Owl, popularly known as Ukuli in Finland. Its bright yellow eyes, snowy white feathers, broad wingspan and silent flight make it a magnificent, yet rare sight.
