INTRODUCING THE ARTIST // Sniedze Praulina
Created in honor of the Onoma cooperatives exhibition opening, Latvian composer and musician Sniedze Prauliņa crafts an ethereal, 25-minute sonic landscape. The piece is built upon audio material and field recordings gathered during her residency with Rozentāls Society in Fiskars, capturing the acoustic environment of local nature and working tools.
Blending these textures with the organic breath of the flute, vocals, and clavichord, the composition develops in a continuous, wave-like motion through the use of loopers and effect pedals. The piece embraces transparency and light, mimicking the subtle shimmer and reflections on the exhibition’s glass floor as the sound floats freely through the gallery space.
