Forth Session “Negotiating your economy”
~How to make it as an art and/or cultural practitioner~
We are happy to announce the fourth session of “MONEY, FAME, GLORY?”, the career event for ART students in Finland. It will be held on campus on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 at 17:30-19:00(EET), and is organized by ViCCA and NoVA.
This series of events will provide ART students with an opportunity to learn about practical career know-how.
We warmly welcome all ART students, especially our international peers! This is a chance for you to learn from experts, organizations, alumnis and students within your own field of study. The career events will focus on topics such as pricing your work, contract negotiation, entrepreneurship and sustainability in the arts and cultural sectors.
In this upcoming event, we are very happy to welcome Pirkko Siitari, independent curator, the former Head of Exhibitions at HAM, and the former director of Kiasma!
Pirkko will give us some insight into her rich experiences in the art scene in Finland and internationally, and open up topics such as how to price your work, contract negotiation, tips for submitting strong project proposals and attractive ideas to various art organizations …etc

Pirkko Siitari was the Head of Exhibitions at HAM 2016-2021. She previously directed various institutions including Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki (2010-2015), where she also worked as a chief curator (2008-2010), Kerava Art Museum (2004-2008) and the Northern Photographic Centre in Oulu (1990s). Siitari was also the chief curator of the Finnish Museum of Photography in Helsinki (1999-2004). She studied Art History and History at the Jyväskylä University and Art Theory at Jan van Eyck Akademi, Maastricht, Netherlands.
