We are pleased to announce Completion of our latest Interior Renovation project within the National Palace Museum(formerly known as Jubile Palace) for Dibabe Ethiopian Cuisine and coffee gallery.

This transformation integrates elegance and innovation with visual connections defining the overall experience. The circular wall openings serve as design elements and specially as connections that unite distinct spaces, allow natural light to pass through, and fill the environment with significance.

Artworks from Zigzag Space Have Added another Dimension for the space by complementing the interior by reflecting the geometry and rhythm of the colors and lines inspired from Ethiopian and African Cultural Patterns, thereby harmonizing the restaurant’s artistic vision with its architectural framework.

Beyond the interior ,the design extends into vast outdoor terraces and garden spaces. These outdoor areas offer a serene dining experience making the most of the site’s heritage setting and blending architecture, nature and culture into one inviting space.

As a prologue to the Association of Ethiopian Architects, architects ወርሃዊ program, abRen presented a lecture titled New Realities in Architecture on April 20th, 2023. abRen is envisioned as a platform for architectural design practice, knowledge elevation, and the exploration of new narratives by the convergence of different voices in a practical and creative learning environment.

The workshop and panel examined how to use architecture for knowledge exchange, how to challenge colonial conventions
through history and heritage while relying on indigenous traditions, and how to empower young professionals (particularly women). Tinsae Tsegahun, curator of Zigzag Space, explained the process it took to make Zigzag possible and the space's vision to support the collaboration of Architects, Artists, and the community to bring into dialogue different ways of practicing architecture.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rahel Shawl for her gesture in inviting participants from a wide array of disciplines within the field of Architecture. We deeply appreciate all the insightful contributions made by every participant. AbRen Initiative The Urban Center Kebena House Association of Ethiopian Architects - AEA NArcHome Architecture
