Here’s a glimpse of how Ethiopian ingredients like berbere (በርበሬ), Mitmita ((ሚጥሚጣ)) and Italian herbs are finding their way into recipes, bringing two culinary traditions together through food, creativity, and cultural exchange.

Samson Hailemichael and a friend from his college days had years of agricultural-machinery designs, but no way to turn them into something a buyer could hold. That changed at Creative Hub Ethiopia in Piassa, whose Fab Lab of three-dimensional printers let them build models to show prospective clients. Their company, Enzirt Engineering Plc, has since turned a profit and completed 20 projects, each worth between 250,000 Br and 400,000 Br. For him, the distance between an idea and a product was about the length of a printer bed.

Something exciting is taking shape at Creative Hub Jimma.

Agriculture, creativity and entrepreneurship are coming together through the Agricultura incubation approach, creating space for young entrepreneurs to develop skills, explore local value chains and turn ideas into opportunities rooted in Jimma’s local ecosystem.

The journey will continue toward the final seminar on 28 - 29 October, bringing together the experiences, ideas and lessons learned along the way.

Hon. Edmondo Cirielli, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, shares a message for the opening of Fashion Lab at Creative Hub Ethiopia.

In his message, Vice Minister Cirielli highlights the partnership between Italy and Ethiopia and the importance of investing in people, professional skills, creativity and opportunities for young people.

Fashion Lab at Creative Hub Ethiopia brings together professional training, entrepreneurship, creativity and international cooperation to support young designers, trainers and entrepreneurs.

The initiative creates opportunities for young people to:
• Develop professional and practical skills
• Understand markets and industry opportunities
• Strengthen their entrepreneurial capacity
• Build international connections
• Turn creativity and skills into opportunities for sustainable livelihoods
Vice Minister Cirielli also acknowledges the contribution of UNIDO, Accademia IUAD, the Ministry of Labour and Skills of Ethiopia, and the other partners involved in making Fashion Lab possible.

As highlighted in his message, development is not built only through infrastructure or financial investment.

Fashion Lab represents an investment in young Ethiopian talent and in the future of the country's creative and fashion industries.

Creative Hub Ethiopia is inviting fashion designers and garment makers to collaborate with participants in its cinema training programme.

The programme gives aspiring filmmakers an opportunity to develop their skills through a film production. Selected designers will work with the filmmaking team to develop costume concepts and sew the outfits that bring the characters and their stories to life.
