Our Story

Mel, a beach bum from Cornwall is a medical photographer with a love of riding
motorbikes.

What We Do...

We digitally restore American Patents in addition to this we also handprint our artworks and designs. Louise, a northsider born and bred is also a photographer, with a
background in fashion and media production. The pair met through photography 5
years ago and this is when their collaboration was born. Having worke

d closely on photography and cinematography projects, they have a
knack of bringing out the best in each other and love nothing more than brainstorming
new ideas. The pair had an epiphany 18 months ago; taking a leap of faith and using
their combined skills in photography, design, and DIY started designing and hand
printing artisan trivets and restoring historic patents as Albatross. The designs and ideas have evolved and changed, as have the raw materials they use. The pair likes to push the creative boundaries and in addition to the ceramics and
framed patents they began with, now use wood, apparel (clothing) and anything Mel
gets her hands on from the recycling centre as their ‘blank canvas’! Ella, our assistant joined the team in January and is incredible with customer
relations. However, she does have her days when she doesn’t really want to work, but
is forgiven due to her big brown eyes and waggy tail!!

Well done to all our marketeers mates that got in the this year's market, we really enjoyed it last year! though, we didn't make it in ourselves this year but fingers crossed for cancellation (anything is possible). We will still be attending our other markets as normal so keep an eye on our page for dates. We have lots of new patents

What a nice Monday! Original patent drawing restored and beautifully printed on ceramic coasters, ( if we do say so ourselves) these are at the 3rd stage of production. There's 3 more stages to go before they are completely finished!!!

Great thing about trading in markets is well you get to wander and see everything in them. You also get to Yap to interesting people... and spend all your money lol. Highly recommend it on George's st. The bar is opened and live music in the afternoon, what else could you ask on a Saturday afternoon.
