This piece is called "Handle With Care"

Somewhere along the way in Western society, growing older became something women are expected to hide, fight, apologise for, or erase.

Women's self-image - and the courage it takes to age in a world that constantly tells them not to - deserves to be handled with far more care than it is. Every age is beautiful, and wrinkles are traces of life itself.

What I present to you on this page will be called: Natural History. It contains several hundred pieces, each cast from the bodies of real women - every part and every pore, every curve, scar, line and mark of a life lived, preserved permanently in resins, clays and various materials.

Having your face casted isn't easy. It means standing completely still and breathing tiny breaths while layers of skin-safe molding material are applied, waiting patiently until every detail is captured.

Red is a contradiction.

It can mean love or anger, courage or danger, desire or grief. It's the colour of sunsets, roses, blood, ripe fruit, warning signs.

What does red mean to you? And what do you think it means to her?

I always found sunflowers inspiring. There is a beautiful story in Greek mythology, where the water nymph Clytie fell deeply in love with Apollo, the god of the sun. When her love wasn't returned, she spent her days watching him travel across the sky, never looking away. Eventually, she became rooted to the earth and transformed into a sunflower, forever turning its face toward the light.

Who are we, if not Clytie?
