I've changed the face, since I didn't like the expression (and overall, whole face). But did I make it better or worse 🤔. Lemme know what you think, and more important, why?

Ignoring everything I would normally do. And won't even try to make it 'accurate' right now we're experimenting and enjoying the process. (Waiting for the acrylics and stuff to dry so that I can whip out the oil paints)

Tea in one hand, brush in the other and that's how we're starting a new painting. This time testen out some new colors, from which are some already on the list of becoming new favorites 👌🏻🌸.

I've been in love with an earthy red for a loooong time but could never find the same pigment with oil paints.... Until now. 🙌🏻

I was just chilling in the studio, looking around, and then I noticed it. ALMOST ALL OF MY PERSONAL CONCEPT HAVE CLOSED EYES. I was soooo sure that I've painted many "open" eyes. Which is correct, but all of them are commissions and they don't hang in my studio 😅. There's literally no reason behind it aside of 'preference'.
(Some of the paintings in the pictures are work in progress pieces or sketch paintings)

Looking back at my old sketchbooks made me realize that I don't sketch as much anymore. I've been solely focussing on my oil paint portraits, which isn't a bad thing, but all of it is more serious. AND from an existing photo! While the whole sketching thing, helps to just draw whatever and come up with the strangest things.

So to motivate myself a bit more. I now bring the above sketchbook with me wherever I go. Just to make it as easy as possible to sketch (or journal) whenever I want to.

Here's a lil sketch from today, just 10min since I was mostly focussing on painting today. But It's cute 😅

I mentioned in my last reel, that I couldn't make the paint work. But I couldn't let it go and wanted to try again. So I did, the only thing that I changed was the terpentine and that made such a difference! With this the paint went on much smoother and blended so much better. And therefore I can now say, goodnight and sweet dreams, for my mind is empty 👌🏻

This Santa ofc was made during Christmas, but that aside I want to use this one to mention that this page is gonna change. I realised that I only posted a handfull of art pieces last year since I wanted to only post a certain 'quality'.
but I'm gonna ignore all of that! From now on this page will be used for everything that I'm working on. And the whole 'portrait selection' a.k.a pieces that I work on longer and more securely (and mostly oil paintings) will be posted on .ragel . On here I will post whatever I want, small and/or quick paintings, sketches, digital work, different mediums, 'everything'. So if that's not to your liking, again, check out .ragel
