The greatest creative mentor I’ve ever had doesn’t own a design studio.

It grows wild. 🌿🐝

A year ago, I changed traffic lights for dragonflies, concrete for wild herbs, and rush hour for the sound of bees. 🐝

I thought moving to a tiny village would simply make life quieter.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Nature is unbelievably alive!

For years, I walked past an entire world without noticing it. 🐾

Bees moving from flower to flower.🌼

Beetles hidden beneath leaves. 🪲

Butterflies disappearing the moment you think you’ve found them. 🦋

Cities teach us to look ahead.
Nature teaches us to look closer.

The tiny world of insects never disappeared. 🐜

It had always been there, carrying on with its own rhythms and routines.

I was the one who had stopped paying attention.

The quality of our creative 🎨 work depends on the quality & capacity of our observation.

Observation changes the way we create.

The more time I spent watching nature, the more I found myself learning from it:
its colors,
volumes,
textures,
movements,
and the smallest details that often go unnoticed.

Nature doesn’t waste a single movement 🌳

Every wing, every flower, every flight path has a purpose.

The more I observed, the more I realized that it has been teaching
design,
patience,
and balance
long before we gave those ideas names.

Once I started reeeeeally observing,
I started designing differently.

This animated story grew out of those slow walks.

Tracing the unseen threads. 〰️

There is a hidden dialogue in my practice lately. While my illustrations are often lush and maximalist 🎨, I am pretty minimalist in my daily life. My studio is an extension of this: a landscape of soft muted beige, natural wooden textures🪵, and quiet greens. This stillness is a kind of protection from feeling overwhelmed.

Perhaps this is also an echo of my work in product photography 📷, where clarity is everything. In that world, any unnecessary reflection must be stripped away, until only the essential remains.

Lately, I’ve found myself craving that same clarity in my artistic routine. 🌿 I am moving toward the restorative power of abstract shapes. 🔸🟡🔹There is a sort of quiet, healing process in muting the literal to focus purely on the essence of a feeling.

I was born in a cold place where winter lasts half a year and the summer is short and fleeting. 🌿 But when it arrives, it is extremely green, lush, and full of exuberant shades of nature and busy insect life.

I remember that during those long, white winters, we had a green carpet in our hall. It was a kind of summer hug, a way to keep those warm memories alive. 🌼🌺🌸

Now, I live in a place where the seasons speak their own language. The landscape is ever-changing, each day is absolutely new, always green, and surprising.

For my proposal for I collect this lush spring energy, the secret life of nature hidden between lines and layers. 🪲🍃It is a whole tiny world full of bullicious life, ready for you to slow down, observe, and feel.💚

It’s been such a heavy week that March 8th almost slipped by me. It wasn’t until a phone call this morning ;someone wishing me a ‘Happy Women’s Day’) that I actually paused to remember. 🌸

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the state of things…

I find myself wondering 💭 if many of the “rights” we’ve won are actually just obligations disguised as rights. 👩🏽‍⚖️

We’ve fought for the seat at the table, but now we’re expected to never leave it. 🫣I see so many tendencies pulling us in different directions: women fighting to move forward, and women fighting for the right to simply BE, rather than just another cog in a working machine. ⚙️

That’s a deeper conversation for another day.
For now, I want to share these 8 illustrations and send a quiet nod of admiration to the women of every profession, in every corner of the world. 🌍

Early spring is blooming softly, and the days are finally stretching out.

There is a curious magic in the air right now…
That specific freshness of recently melted ice. ❄️
Cold night air and a warm morning wind.🌞 Even while the days stay grey, there is a pulse of change underneath.🌨️

Ancient traditions remind us that spring is the ultimate symbol of transformation🐦‍🔥.

But that transformation is born in the dark. 🌑

We often forget that for the bloom 🌾 to arrive, the seed first had to endure the dark, cold weight of the earth.

Winter’s long nights have always been associated with the “dark soul times.” In the wheel of the year, it is a period of inner gathering. While it can be cozy, it is often confusing and heavy, especially when the world around us is demanding we be “on.” 🫠

Not so long ago, I found myself returning to the concept of “The Dark Night of the Soul”, a period I am intimately familiar with, as are many sensitive souls.🌚

I’ve gathered some words of support and wisdom that helped me navigate my own shadows. I wanted to share these “Notes on the Darkness” with you.

Remember: the ice is melting even when you can’t see the water flowing yet. You are making space for something more real. 🪔

You aren’t lost.
You are germinating. 🌱
