🇪🇸 ¡Cerramos un curso lleno de aprendizaje, naturaleza y muchas experiencias compartidas! 🌿

Durante estos meses, desde el Departamento de Educación de Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, hemos disfrutado de numerosas actividades con centros escolares y grupos de alumnos que nos han acompañado en este camino.

Talleres, visitas educativas, proyectos ambientales, actividades sobre biodiversidad, océanos, sostenibilidad y mucho más… Cada experiencia ha sido una oportunidad para aprender, descubrir y conectar con la naturaleza de una forma cercana y divertida. 💚

Queremos agradecer a todos los centros, docentes y alumnos que han formado parte de nuestras actividades.

Gracias por vuestra participación, entusiasmo y compromiso con la educación ambiental.

¡Nos vemos el próximo curso con nuevas propuestas y muchas ganas de seguir aprendiendo juntos! ✨

Over the past few months, from the Education Department at Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, we have enjoyed numerous activities with schools and groups of students who have joined us along the way.

Workshops, educational visits, environmental projects, activities about biodiversity, oceans, sustainability and much more… Each experience has been an opportunity to learn, discover and connect with nature in a close and fun way. 💚

We would like to thank all the schools, teachers and students who have taken part in our activities.

🇪🇸 El tigre (Panthera tigris) es un félido majestuoso y uno de los grandes depredadores del planeta. 🐅

De esta especie se reconocen tradicionalmente 6 subespecies actuales, todas amenazadas y necesitadas de protección.

Es un animal carnívoro, con una anatomía perfectamente adaptada para la caza: cuerpo musculoso, gran agilidad, garras fuertes, mandíbulas potentes y colmillos que pueden alcanzar cerca de 8 cm.

Cada una de sus rayas es única, como una huella dactilar, y le ayuda a camuflarse en su entorno.

Poderoso, elegante y vulnerable: proteger al tigre es proteger también el equilibrio de los ecosistemas donde vive. 🌿

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The tiger (Panthera tigris) is a majestic felid and one of the planet’s great predators. 🐅

Traditionally, 6 living subspecies are recognised within this species, all of them threatened and in need of protection.

It is a carnivorous animal, with an anatomy perfectly adapted for hunting: a muscular body, great agility, strong claws, powerful jaws and canine teeth that can reach nearly 8 cm.

Each of its stripes is unique, like a fingerprint, and helps it camouflage in its environment.

Powerful, elegant and vulnerable: protecting the tiger also means protecting the balance of the ecosystems where it lives. 🌿

🇪🇸 Las aves rapaces son las grandes especialistas del cielo. 🦅 Pero no todas se alimentan igual.

Las águilas son rapaces cazadoras: tienen una vista excepcional, garras fuertes y un pico afilado para capturar y desgarrar a sus presas.

Los buitres, en cambio, son rapaces carroñeras: se alimentan de animales mu***os y cumplen una función esencial limpiando el entorno y ayudando a evitar enfermedades.

Cazadoras o carroñeras, todas son fundamentales para el equilibrio de la naturaleza. 🌿

Eagles are hunting raptors: they have exceptional eyesight, strong talons and a sharp beak to capture and tear apart their prey.

Vultures, on the other hand, are scavenging raptors: they feed on dead animals and play an essential role by cleaning the environment and helping to prevent diseases.

Hunters or scavengers, they are all fundamental to the balance of nature. 🌿

🇪🇸 Hay un motivo por el que ningún vaquero salía a cabalgar sin su sombrero… y no era solo por la foto 🤠

El ala ancha nació para regalar sombra bajo el sol implacable de las llanuras: una pequeña genialidad portátil. Y con el verano asomando por el horizonte (faltan 10 días), en el Rancho Texas Park nos suena muchísimo eso de buscar la sombra perfecta entre carretas y tipis.

🇪🇸 Estamos a solo 12 días de que el verano arranque oficialmente, y en Rancho Texas Park ya se huele en el aire del Oeste 🌵.
Te lanzamos un acertijo: subo despacio, bajo en un suspiro y, aunque no soy una canoa, siempre acabas con una sonrisa (y mojad@ de arriba abajo) 🌊.
El sol canario y yo hacemos muy buen equipo todo el año. ¿Sabes ya qué soy?

🇪🇸 Hoy celebramos el Día Mundial de los Océanos recordando que su cuidado es responsabilidad de todos.
En este proyecto hemos contado con la colaboración especial del Grupo de Autogestores de ADISLAN. Estos grupos están formados por personas con discapacidad intelectual o del desarrollo que se reúnen para expresar sus opiniones, defender sus derechos, tomar decisiones sobre su vida y participar activamente en la sociedad. En esta ocasión comparten los mensajes que han elaborado para ayudarnos a tomar conciencia de la importancia de proteger nuestros mares y océanos.

Llevamos más de tres años trabajando el ODS 14: Vida submarina, acercando a grupos de estudiantes la importancia de conservar la biodiversidad marina y reducir nuestro impacto en el entorno.

Queremos agradecer a todos los grupos que han participado en nuestras actividades, y de manera muy especial a ADISLAN, por el trabajo que han realizado y por ayudarnos a transmitir un mensaje tan necesario: cuidar los océanos es cuidar la vida.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Today we celebrate World Oceans Day, remembering that caring for them is everyone’s responsibility.
In this project, we have had the special collaboration of the ADISLAN Self-Advocates Group. These groups are made up of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities who meet to express their opinions, defend their rights, make decisions about their lives and actively participate in society. On this occasion, they are sharing the messages they have created to help us become aware of the importance of protecting our seas and oceans.

We have been working for more than three years on SDG 14: Life Below Water, helping student groups understand the importance of conserving marine biodiversity and reducing our impact on the environment.

We would like to thank all the groups that have taken part in our activities, and especially ADISLAN, for the work they have done and for helping us share such an important message: caring for the oceans means caring for life.

The sea is asking for help.
Every minute a truckload of rubbish reaches the ocean.
The sea is not a rubbish bin.
One cigarette butt pollutes fifty litres of water.
Plastic does not disappear.
Don’t throw it away.
Caring for the ocean means caring for the future.
Lend a hand. Get involved.

🇪🇸 El ibis escarlata (Eudocimus ruber) también sabe posar como un flamenco. 🦩

En esta foto lo vemos descansando sobre una sola pata, una postura muy común en muchas aves zancudas. Aunque pueda parecer incómoda, para ellas es una forma natural de relajarse, ahorrar energía y mantener mejor el calor corporal.

Su intenso color rojo no pasa desapercibido, y se debe en gran parte a su alimentación, rica en pequeños crustáceos y otros invertebrados que contienen pigmentos naturales. 🌿

Elegante, llamativo y lleno de curiosidades.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The scarlet ibis (Eudocimus ruber) also knows how to pose like a flamingo. 🦩

In this photo, we can see it resting on one leg, a very common posture among many wading birds. Although it may seem uncomfortable, for them it is a natural way to relax, save energy and better maintain body heat.

Its intense red colour certainly stands out, and it is largely due to its diet, which is rich in small crustaceans and other invertebrates containing natural pigments. 🌿
