The new issue of Rubik magazine is out, putting Spanish filming locations and major international productions across Spain in the spotlight. Andalusia features through its heritage, locations and the professionals who bring them to the screen.
In “Heritage Made for the Movies: permits, restrictions and protection when filming at heritage sites”, journalist Nerea Méndez explores the challenges of filming at historic sites. Andalucía Film Commission director, Piluca Querol, shares insights into heritage filming, our Heritage Sessions and the Network of Unique Private Locations of Andalusia, alongside examples of productions filmed at historic locations across the region.
The issue also features an interview with Andalusian location manager Irene Manrique, nominated for an LMGI Award this year for her work on "Young Sherlock", exploring the relationship between technology and location scouting.
And for those looking for castles with cinematic potential, Almodóvar del Río Castle in Córdoba and Burgalimar Castle in Jaén feature in the magazine’s guide to castles for filming.
