Flamenco Agency is a platform that promotes artists, shows and knowledge on the art of flamenco at an international level. It presents large ballets, small groups and artists (of both traditional and avant-garde aesthetics) in all disciplines: dance, singing and toque (playing), as well as other styles such as the use of various instruments (piano, percussion
, etc). As a multidisciplinary agency, it organises worldwide tours for the most renowned Spanish flamenco artists. Based in Seville, where Flamenco was born, Flamenco Agency was founded in 2007 by Dr. Jaime Trancoso. Jaime graduated with a degree in musicology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He received his PhD in Flamenco from the University of Seville (obtaining a prize by the Seville City Council for his doctoral thesis) and became a cultural manager after finishing his studies at the University of London. Thanks to his qualified research training in flamenco and his extensive professional experience through his continuous work with artists and productions in Spain, Flamenco Agency offers thorough advice as well as the highest expert knowledge in each of its artistic proposals for festivals, theatres and opera houses around the world. Furthermore, the vision of Flamenco Agency is to elevate and place Flamenco within the highest category of the performing arts. In fact, in its more than fifteen years of experience, it has given value to this artistic and popular discipline that constitutes to the most representative identity of the Andalusian and Spanish culture. Apart from that, Flamenco agency presents proposals of the highest artistic quality to international stages. These proposals are based on the knowledge of the flamenco shows that are produced and premiered in Spain, both in the Flamenco Art Biennial of Sevilla and in the Jerez Flamenco Festival. Flamenco Agency is specialised in the distribution of the best flamenco ballets in Spain, and consequently, in the world, such as the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet (official ballet of the Andalusian government) or the Barcelona Flamenco Ballet. Additionally, Flamenco Agency promotes both traditional shows (such as Carmen or Flamenco Suite), as well as avant-garde and contemporary flamenco art, bailaores (dancers), cantaores (singers), guitarists and pianists. Moreover, thanks to the flexibility and adaptability of Flamenco Agency's tailor-made proposals, we have also organised corporate event shows for companies such as Hewlett-Packard and for the Royal House of Spain. Flamenco Agency has been programmed in important festivals around the world, such as the Gent Festival of Flanders, Ljubljana Festival or Bangkok's International Festival of Music and Dance. Similarly, it has collaborated with some of the most prestigious venues and opera houses, such as the National Center for the Performing Arts Opera House in Beijing (NCPA), Shanghai International Dance Center Grand Theatre (SIDC), Aga Khan Museum (Canada), or the Teatro Campoamor de Oviedo (Spain). In addition, Jaime Trancoso selflessly offers conferences, courses, masterclasses or didactic seminars, even with pre-concert formats. So much so he has participated in a large number of international conferences, such as the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman (ROHM), Førde Traditional and World Music Festival (Norway, EFFE Award winners) or Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS, Romania). As a result of its commitment to the performing arts, Flamenco Agency maintains a consortium and concerted actions with the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA). Simultaneously, it forms part of the business circle of the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres (AAPPAC) and has collaborated closely with the most prestigious festivals of the European Festivals Association (EFA). Finally, Flamenco Agency has been participating annually at the most prestigious conferences for the performing arts such as APAP, China SPAF, CINARS, Classical Next, Mapas Mercado Cultural, Sibiu Performing Arts Market, Tanzmesse or WOMEX.
