⭐️ El Festival Internacional de Santander (FIS) ha clausurado su edición número setenta y cinco reuniendo a más de 40.000 asistentes en el conjunto de la programación diseñada para conmemorar su 75 edición. Una celebración compartida entre el público y los artistas que ha sumado cincuenta y dos espectáculos en treinta días, entre la capital de Cantabria y otros dieciocho municipios, además de exposiciones y una multitudinaria proyección de homenaje en la plaza Porticada.

En el caso concreto del Palacio de Festivales, la propuesta del FIS ha batido el récord de asistencia de los últimos 15 años, al sumar más de 30.000 espectadores entre funciones y conciertos. Los Marcos Históricos superaron las 6.000 asistencias, hasta llegar junto al resto de iniciativas a una cifra total de asistentes que constituye un incremento del 25 por ciento respecto a las cifras de la edición anterior, acentuando la tendencia al alza que ya comenzó en 2024.

The Santander International Festival (FIS) has brought its 75th edition to a close, attracting more than 40,000 attendees across the programme of events designed to mark its 75th anniversary. A celebration shared by the public and the artists, it featured fifty-two shows over thirty days, taking place in the capital of Cantabria and eighteen other towns, as well as exhibitions and a mass screening in honour of the festival in the Plaza Porticada.

At the Palacio de Festivales in particular, the FIS programme broke the attendance record for the last 15 years, attracting more than 30,000 spectators across performances and concerts. The ‘Marcos Históricos’ events attracted over 6,000 visitors, bringing the total number of attendees across all initiatives to a figure representing a 25 per cent increase on the previous edition’s figures, further highlighting the upward trend that began in 2024.

⭐️ Noche para la historia con mayúsculas en la clausura del 75 Festival Internacional de Santander, con la Orquesta del Festival de Bayreuth y el maestro Pablo Heras-Casado en un espectacular programa dedicado «El anillo del Nibelungo», con una selección de los números más conocidos de esta Tetralogía y la participación de tres destacados intérpretes wagnerianos: Catherine Foster, Klaus Florian Vogt y Nicholas Brownlee.

La Sala Argenta se han convertido, durante una noche, en una extensión simbólica de la Colina Verde. Un concierto que ha sido mucho más que el cierre a esta edición de aniversario. Ha sido el encuentro excepcional entre 150 años de historia de Bayreuth y 75 ediciones del FIS, unidos por la música de Richard Wagner. Gracias por hacer de esta celebración una edición inolvidable.

A truly historic evening marked the closing of the 75th Santander International Festival, featuring the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra and conductor Pablo Heras-Casado in a spectacular programme dedicated to 'The Ring of the Nibelung', with a selection of the best-known pieces from this tetralogy and the participation of three outstanding Wagnerian performers: Catherine Foster, Klaus Florian Vogt and Nicholas Brownlee.

For one night, the Sala Argenta became a symbolic extension of the Green Hill. This concert was much more than simply the closing event of this anniversary edition. It was an exceptional convergence of 150 years of Bayreuth’s history and 75 editions of the FIS, united by the music of Richard Wagner. Thank you for making this celebration an unforgettable edition.

⭐️ La clausura de la sección Marcos Históricos del 75 Festival Internacional de Santander ha tenido un nombre propio: el de la organista Montserrat Torrent. Con motivo de su cien cumpleaños, celebrado el pasado 17 de abril, el FIS ha organizado, en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento de Torrelavega, la Fundació Montserrat Torrent y la Asociación para la Conservación de los Órganos de Cantabria (Acoca), este recital.

Una artista y maestra única, tan vinculada a la historia del FIS, que ha interpretado composiciones de Francisco Correa de Arauxo, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann, Eduardo Torres y Jesús Guridi para poner el broche de oro a esta querida sección en la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Torrelavega.

The closure of the ‘Marcos Históricos’ section of the 75th Santander International Festival featured a special guest: the organist Montserrat Torrent. To mark her 100th birthday, celebrated on 17 April, the FIS organised this recital in collaboration with Torrelavega Town Council, the Montserrat Torrent Foundation and the Association for the Conservation of Organs in Cantabria (Acoca).

A unique artist and teacher, so closely linked to the history of the FIS, she performed works by Francisco Correa de Arauxo, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann, Eduardo Torres and Jesús Guridi to bring this much-loved section to a fitting close at the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Torrelavega.

At this 75th edition of the Santander International Festival, the strong partnership with the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) has taken the form of two unique programmes within the ‘Marcos Históricos’ section: the first, ‘How a City Sings from November to November’, based on texts and songs by Federico García Lorca and held on 6 August in the Patio de Caballerizas on the Magdalena Peninsula; and the second, last night’s concert at the Sala Pereda, which brought together the Quiroga Quartet and the baritone José Antonio López to perform ‘Revés’, a work by Israel López Estelche based on poems by Jesús Ruiz Mantilla, alongside two quartets by Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga.
