Recent work by the Asturian sculptor pedro Pubil. His playful yet powerful objects are molded of refractory clay mixed with different volcanic ashes and earths, then baked at 1250 degrees in a kiln. Many of Pubil’s objects are composed of a series smaller parts, sometimes threaded onto a metal axis or piled into a box. They invite the viewer's touch and offer the possibility of reorienting and rebuilding. Their titles speak of a poetic soul, exploring the universe for meaning through elemental forms. Their surfaces, rough and earthy, exude a magnetic primordial strength
