Olas Gallery presents ‘Textures of Time’, a collaborative exhibition and exploratory conversation in photography and clay, by Sofia Gomez Fonzo ( / ) and Rachel Weschke ()

In allowing life to unfold, we also make space for the unforeseen: for tension, for rupture, for the quiet emergence of the unexpected. These so-called accidents are not interruptions, Sofia and Rachel work from within this threshold, inviting contingency into their practice and allowing the work to be shaped by elemental encounters.

Today we’re closing Ned Irving’s ‘Under the surface’. It has been a pleasure to be part of this amazing artist’s first show and we’re very proud of his accomplishments and hard work, as within this time of exhibition he has also been granted several international awards for his work, including the Gold Winner for the London Photography Awards.

This beautiful and colourful piece was shot in Cala Mastella, capturing the movement of water on top of rocks on the seabed.

By capturing the ephemeral play of light on and under water, Irving reveals patterns that exist beyond sight - transient geometries shaped by nature, time and chance.

Through his process, multiple exposures and layered perspectives merge into fluid compositions that evoke
painting more than traditional photography.

The scale, depth and exceptional finish of the works create an experience that cannot be fully translated on screen and small formats.

Elizabeth Rose Langford is a British painter currently living and working on Ibiza. Her practice centres around natural materials and their inherent possibilities, using alchemical methods to extract colour from local plants, earth and minerals. The resulting pigments are made into
paintings investigating Ibiza’s cultural heritage.
