As we approach the month of August, Ballet de Barcelona is excited about the future as we embark on our first full season! Amidst the excitement we are also reflecting on how we began this journey and arrived to where we are today.
We created Ballet de Barcelona by coming together as a group with a common dream and by reaching out for support inside of our community and all over the world. The people that joined us and showed interest in our project have become a truly vital part of not only our launch but more importantly of our flight. Each one of you has helped make this dream a reality, something we will carry on with us through every rehearsal, in every performance, and in every theater.
As we took our first bows as Ballet de Barcelona on stage at the Teatre Condal, the recognition of audience members was extremely gratifying. The formation of the company and consequent success of the debut performances was also favorably reflected in the media. Articles were published in national and local newspapers “El País” and “El Punt Avui”, online news publications on Catalunya Press and Ara.cat, televised segments aired on RTVE Spanish news and TV3 Catalan news channels, critiques written by “Espectáculos BCN”, “En Platea”, and “Críticas Ballet y Más” online performance blogs, and a backstage live-stream transmitted by Dance Magazine.
Thanks to your contributions, the tireless efforts of our terrific team, and the success of our premiere performances, we are preparing for a busy 2019/2020 season. We are happy to announce performances in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Spain on the 23rd and 24th of August, the Cadences Dance Festival in Arcachon, France on the 20th of September, in Girona, Spain in November, a brand new Nutcracker to welcome in the new year 2020, as well as an educational production of Peter and the Wolf in collaboration with Lleidart chamber orchestra in Lleida, Spain.
More performances, projects, and collaborations are pending and in the works! Make sure to stay up to date with the progress of the company – that you helped create! – by following us on social media and through visiting our website, www.balletdebarcelona.com
The dancers and the entire team wish to thank you all for your very generous contributions and support. Moltes gràcies de tot cor, muchas gracias de todo corazón, and a very heartfelt thank you from Ballet de Barcelona!
