ANUNCI IMPORTANT: Enclave Land Art no es durà a terme en 2025.
El mes de juny passat Enclave Land Art tenia previst el llançament de la convocatòria gràcies al suport d’institucions públiques valencianes. Des de finals de l’any passat vam iniciar a concretar unes bases econòmiques de suport per a poder desenvolupar el projecte. En el transcurs de les últimes setmanes vam saber que aquest suport desapareixia per una sèrie de retallades basades en la redistribució dels fons prioritzant altres partides menys vinculades a iniciatives d’art contemporani, maltractant moltes de les quals estem treballant en el territori des de fa anys.
Estem convençuts que en un futur trobarem els millors aliats per a continuar amb la nostra labor per portar l’art contemporani a contextos on no arriba, ja siga en terres valencianes o en qualsevol altra part del món. Estem molt preocupats pel caire que està prenent la realitat cultural valenciana, on sembla que no hi ha cabuda a eixe diàleg necessari entre la cultura popular i la cultura contemporània. Creiem en la nostra labor i lluitem per millorar el nostre treball i continuar.

We regret to announce that Enclave Land Art will not take place in 2025.
The open call was scheduled to launch on June 15, supported by public institutions in Valencia. Since late last year, we had been working diligently to secure financial backing to make this edition possible. However, in recent weeks we learned that this support has been withdrawn due to unexpected budget cuts. This decision came despite our full readiness and continued efforts to move forward.
It appears these cuts result from a redistribution of public funds, with a shift in priorities away from contemporary art initiatives. Unfortunately, this has negatively impacted many long-standing cultural projects, including ours, which have been rooted in and committed to the territory for years.
Despite this setback, we remain committed to our mission of bringing contemporary art to remote and underserved contexts—whether in the Valencian region or elsewhere in the world. We are deeply concerned about the current direction of cultural policy in Valencia, where the essential dialogue between popular and contemporary culture seems increasingly at risk.
We believe in our work. We are determined to improve, adapt, and continue.

ANUNCIO IMPORTANTE: Enclave Land Art no se llevará a cabo en 2025.
El pasado mes de junio Enclave Land Art tenía previsto el lanzamiento de la convocatoria gracias al apoyo de instituciones públicas valencianas. Desde finales del año pasado iniciamos a concretar unas bases económicas de apoyo para poder desarrollar el proyecto. En el trascurso de las últimas semanas supimos que este apoyo desaparecía por una serie de recortes basados en la redistribución de los fondos priorizando otras partidas menos vinculadas a iniciativas de arte contemporáneo, maltratando muchas de las que estamos trabajando en el territorio desde hace años.
Estamos convencidos que en un futuro encontraremos los mejores aliados para continuar con nuestra labor por llevar el arte contemporáneo a contextos donde no llega, ya sea en tierras valencianas o en cualquier otra parte del mundo. Estamos muy preocupados por el cariz que está tomando la realidad cultural valenciana, donde parece que no hay cabida a ese diálogo necesario entre la cultura popular y la cultura contemporánea. Creemos en nuestra labor y luchamos por mejorar nuestro trabajo y continuar.

“SON ESOS ECOS” by Pablo Diaz.
Between November and December 2023, I took part in an artist residency in Quesa, Valencia, Spain. My project explored how a place’s soundscape reflects the changes it has gone through over time. Every place has a unique sound, shaped by its past—an echo of what it once was and how its sound has evolved.
During the residency, I led a workshop on field recording and deep listening. We walked from the town hall to the outskirts of the village. On the way there, we simply recorded any sounds that caught our attention. On the way back, we experimented by interacting with materials from the environment to explore new ways of listening and recording.
It was a truly enriching experience, and I left with two recordings captured on my phone.
Months later, back in Buenos Aires, I started working with those recordings, layering them with fragments recorded using my percussion setups. The result is the two pieces that make up this album.
Early in the residency, I had a conversation with Pedro, a local resident, who said during a long conversation, “son esos ecos” (“It’s those echoes”) referring to how the sounds we listen to today carry traces of the past. [Pablo Díaz]

Pablo Díaz (Buenos Aires, 1985) is a musician and sound artist working in the fields of experimental music and sound art. He is known for his innovative drumming, using different types of set configurations and selected sound objects. His work centers on sound as a creative medium, encompassing concerts, performances, and sound installations.

Sometimes the circumstances invite you to take a break or to stop to learn, improve, and come back stronger, with new ideas and new challenges. Enclave Land Art residency had to have launched the open call in July and unfortunately, we didn’t. As it happened in 2020, we were forced to stop due to external circumstances which made it impossible to guarantee the edition’s success. This year Enclave Land Art won’t celebrate its sixth edition.
We believe analyzing the weak points to improve and thinking about new horizons will bring us new opportunities. We are working hard to make it happen. Stay tuned! Novities will arrive soon!
We believe in Enclave Land Art.

A veces las circunstancias te invitan a tomar una pausa o detenerte para aprender, mejorar y volver más fuerte, con nuevas ideas y nuevos desafíos. La residencia Enclave Land tuvo que haber lanzado su convocatoria en Julio y desafortunadamente no lo hicimos. Como sucedió en 2020, nos vimos forzados a parar debido a circunstancias externas que hicieron imposible garantizar el éxito de la edición. Este año Enclave Land Art no podrá celebrar su sexta edición.
Creemos en el análisis de nuestros puntos débiles para mejorar y pensar en nuevos horizontes nos traerán nuevas oportunidades. Estamos trabajando muy duro para hacer que sea una realidad. ¡Seguid informados! En breve tendréis novedades.

CRONOAURAL by Pablo Díaz “...Every fleeting sound has an aspect of hallucination, since it leaves no traces, and from then on it can resonate in the eternity of a past of listening...” Michel Chion The creation of a performative work is proposed in the region of the Canal de Navarrés, in Quesa, based on the sonic activation of materials both native and external to the site, and the practice of attentive listening to different natural environments. Through a process of acoustic and sonic survey of the territory through various on-site sound practices, a work in the format of a sonic performance will be created, which will account for time as a transversal, contextual, and determinant axis in the manifestation of sound in an acoustic space.

CRONOAURAL por Pablo Díaz “…Todo sonido pasajero tiene un aspecto de alucinación, puesto que no deja huellas, y a partir de entonces puede resonar en la eternidad de un pretérito de la escucha…” Michel Chion Se propone la creación de una obra performativa en la región del Canal de Navarrés, en Quesa, a partir de la activación sonora de materiales propios y externos del lugar y la práctica de escucha atenta de diferentes entornos naturales. A través de un proceso de relevamiento acústico y sonoro del territorio por medio de distintas prácticas de sonorización in situ, se creará una obra en formato de performance sonora a partir de la cual dar cuenta del tiempo como eje transversal, contextual y determinante en la manifestación del sonido en un espacio acústico.

ORIGEN is the origin of time and cyclical movement, the symbol and manifestation of generative fertility and the sacred, the plastic power, the power to give life, the mystery of nature, the embrace of the mother, healing and regeneration, the guardianship of what dies and the goal of what lives. The sculpture, constructed solely with materials offered by the location, will be completely biodegradable. I will create a concave environment within the mother sculpture, spacious enough to accommodate a curled-up body inside. The installation, ephemeral and interactive by nature, aims to be an opportunity for the community to engage with a more intimate and somatic dimension of time. During the creation process, a specific participatory performance will be developed for the location in dialogue with the mother sculpture.

ORIGEN es el origen del tiempo y del movimiento cíclico, el símbolo y la manifestación de la fertilidad generativa y de lo sagrado, el poder plástico, el poder de dar vida, el misterio de la naturaleza, la acogida de la madre, la curación y la regeneración, la custodia de lo que muere y la meta de lo que vive. La escultura, construida únicamente con los materiales que ofrece el lugar, será completamente biodegradable. Crearé un entorno cóncavo dentro de la escultura-madre, lo suficientemente espacioso como para albergar un cuerpo acurrucado en su interior. La instalación, efímera e interactiva por naturaleza, pretende ser una oportunidad para que la comunidad se comprometa con una dimensión más íntima y somática del tiempo. Durante el proceso de creación, se elaborará una performance participativa específica para el lugar en diálogo con la escultura-madre.

This project is inspired by the ancient astronomical water mirrors present in different civilizations, such as the pre-Hispanic Peruvians. These circular ponds carved in stone were filled with rainwater and may have had a liturgical purpose, reflecting the sun, the moon, and the constellations to observe celestial movements. The project involves sculpting a rock to create a pond that will be filled with rainwater, reflecting the stars. It aims to become a landmark in the landscape and a place to contemplate the sky reflected in the water, following an ancient tradition that encouraged the spiritual connection of human beings with nature through the modification of the environment.

Este proyecto se inspira en los antiguos espejos de agua astronómicos presentes en diferentes civilizaciones, como los peruanos de la época prehispánica. Estos estanques circulares tallados en piedra se llenaban de agua de lluvia y podrían haber tenido un propósito litúrgico, reflejando el sol, la luna y las constelaciones para observar los movimientos celestiales. El proyecto implica esculpir una roca para crear un estanque que se llenará con agua de lluvia, reflejando los astros. Pretende convertirse en un hito en el paisaje y un lugar para contemplar el cielo reflejado en el agua, siguiendo una tradición antigua que fomentaba la conexión espiritual del ser humano con la naturaleza a través de la modificación del entorno.

“UNA GRIETA EN EL TIEMPO” is part of an investigation into temporal fragmentations, both discursive and material, that shape the heterotopic nature of space and memory. In this project, the fragility of temporal experience is interpreted through the construction of one of the oldest instruments used to measure time, the sundial. A sundial that fails to determine time as we understand it, and by distorting the element that produces the code, it prompts questioning and rethinking its effect to inhabit the various transformations of space and its narratives.

Una grieta en el tiempo forma parte de una investigación sobre las fragmentaciones temporales, de lo discursivo y material, que conforman la característica heterotópica del espacio y la memoria. En este proyecto la fragilidad de la experiencia temporal se interpreta a través de la construcción de uno de los instrumentos más antiguos utilizados para medir el tiempo, el reloj de sol. Un reloj solar que no consigue determinar el tiempo, tal como lo entendemos, y que, deformando el elemento que produce el código, haga cuestionar y repensar su efecto para habitar las distintas transformaciones del espacio y sus relatos.

“Líricas envolventes del río Escalona” explores the transience of the landscape, particularly the relationship between geological dynamics and human influence on the Escalona River. The artistic practice involves direct interaction with the territory, creating organic wraps that capture the orographic essence of the place. The project will culminate in an in situ sculptural installation that poetically reflects the coexistence of the geological and the organic.

“Líricas envolventes del río Escalona” explora la transitoriedad del paisaje, especialmente la relación entre dinámicas geológicas y la influencia humana en el río Escalona. La práctica artística involucra una interacción directa con el territorio, creando envolturas orgánicas que capturan la esencia orográfica del lugar. El proyecto culminará en una instalación escultórica in situ que poéticamente refleja la coexistencia de lo geológico y lo orgánico.
