ZefiZan are a paunchy cartooncouple created by the Flemish artist Marleen Pauwels. They are full of energy, crazy about each other and life in general.

Their only goal is to bring a smile to people's faces.

Between 2011 and 2015, whilst waiting for the planning permission for our studio, we “camped out” for a couple of years in the little shed that stood here when we bought our finca. All my painting supplies were still packed away in a garage in the village. The only things I had to hand were some wax crayons, which I then used to draw on the doors and tables. It certainly wasn’t the easiest period of our life here, but it was part of the journey we’ve been on, and it still warms my heart when I think back on it.
