I really didn’t want to make another post like this, but unfortunately, once again I feel I have to. I’m writing this as Gabi’s dad.
It honestly makes me sad to see how hard Gabi works and how difficult it still is for her to get the opportunities she dreams about.
She’s 13. She produces her own music, practices DJing, performs, learns every day and dreams about playing bigger stages. She puts so much of herself into this.
I don’t expect everyone to like her music or support her. That’s completely fine. But when someone who has spent decades in the music industry leaves a comment like this under a 13-year-old girl’s video, I think I have every right as her dad to ask why.
And that’s exactly what I did. I contacted him privately and simply asked why he left that comment.
Instead of just explaining it or saying, “Okay, maybe that wasn’t the right thing to write,” the conversation went in a completely different direction. In the end, I was told to “get the f out of her life/work” and called an idiot.
And after all of this, he blocked me.
This is the part that makes me sad. Sometimes it feels like instead of giving young talent a chance, some people in this industry would rather judge, dismiss or discourage them before they’ve even had the opportunity to show what they can really do.
Gabi works incredibly hard. She makes her own music, she DJs, she performs and she keeps learning. She doesn’t need special treatment because she’s 13.
She just deserves a fair chance.
As her dad, I’ll always stand up for her when I feel someone is trying to put her down.
I’ll leave the screenshots here. Read the conversation and make your own judgment.
