Another look at Juan Díaz-Faes work at Palacete Fernán Caballero in El Puerto de Santa María, Spain.

Böhl de Faes takes its title from Cecilia Böhl de Faber, the Spanish writer and folklorist who published under the male pen name Fernán Caballero. From this starting point, the exhibition explores ideas of authorship, identity and visibility, in contrast with Díaz-Faes’ own instantly recognisable visual signature.

SOLO Castanedo presents ‘Hikikomori’, a new exhibition by Cindy Crawford

The exhibition brings together key elements of the artist’s practice, exploring the friction between authorship, representation and public identity. Weight, gravity and restraint are not used to illustrate ideas, but to embody them, placing the works in a state of sustained tension between technical control and material vulnerability.

Böhl de Faes, a new exhibition by Juan Díaz-Faes, has just opened at Palacete Fernán Caballero in El Puerto de Santa María, in collaboration with .

The exhibition takes its title from Cecilia Böhl de Faber, the Spanish writer and folklorist known by her male pen name, Fernán Caballero. Taking her story as a starting point, Díaz-Faes explores ideas of authorship, identity and visibility.

In contrast to Böhl de Faber’s forced anonymity, Díaz-Faes turns has own signature — the instantly recognisable smile — into a recurring presence. Across walls and everyday objects, the motif becomes both a mark of authorship and a gesture of appropriation.

Dama Sabine Finkenauer 198,5 cm x 91 cm – Collage.

Sabine Finkenauer · develops a multidisciplinary practice spanning painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. Inspired by domestic spaces and imagined figures, she distills familiar forms into bold compositions of line and colour. Her work combines geometric clarity with a playful sensibility, creating images that are both visually restrained and quietly evocative.

Born in Rockenhausen, Germany, 1961. In Barcelona she continues to live and work. Over the course of her career, she has exhibited internationally in museums, institutions and galleries, establishing herself as a distinctive voice in contemporary European art.

David Morago presents Zwischenzeit, an exhibition featuring work developed during his residency at Urban Spree .

Working internationally since the late 1990s, Morago first gained recognition for his meticulously detailed paintings rooted in the natural world.

With Zwischenzeit, he moves away from naturalistic representation towards a more abstract and experimental visual language, inviting new ways of perceiving and understanding the image.

Zwischenzeit is on view at Urban Spree from 24 July to 22 August 2026.

Perrea y Perreo, 2025 by Ana Barriga

Originally from Cádiz, Ana Barriga studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville. Inspired by play, she brings a childlike energy to her practice, altering and reworking her canvases to explore the balance between reason and emotion.

In the second picture A.I.C.C.A., a performative robotic dog created by AI art pioneer Mario Klingemann , observes the artwork. Combining robotics, complex algorithms, and humour, it explores the exhibition space and produces short critical texts about the artworks it encounters.

Infonic Harmonisation (2024) forms part of Deemona series, which envisions a post-apocalyptic future in which all traces of human creativity have disappeared.

The series imagines an AI demiurge reconstructing civilisation from fragments of human data questioning how technology might reshape memory.

London-based artist Chino Moya works across feature films, short films, photography, and comic book writing, creating dystopian narratives that explore the destructive forces shaping contemporary society.

Infonic Harmonisation is part of the SOLO collection, on view at SOLO CSV, Madrid.
