‘Known Surfaces’ is a series of three SAR (synthetic aperture radar) images capturing calibration sites, landscapes used by satellites to learn how to see. Before beginning their imaging work, satellites calibrate their vision against these known geographical reliefs, establishing a “ground truth” from which to measure and interpret the world.

The series is part of ‘End of Signal’, an exhibition by Cezar Mocan exploring contemporary regimes of vision and the infrastructures that produce, sustain and shape them, presented as part of the SOLO AI ’25 AWARD.

Matter, language and the body converge in Criaturas híbridas, unfolding across three distinct artistic universes where the human and the animal, the organic and the artificial, dreams and reality begin to blur.

Bringing together three artists from three different generations (evru_zush, Gonzalo Guzmán and Sandra Vàsquez de la Horra ) the exhibition explores hybridity as a space of transformation, challenging the boundaries between categories traditionally understood as separate.

Curated by Barcelona-based Galeria SENDA , Criaturas híbridas arrives in Madrid as part of Movimiento 37, a SOLO project fostering the exchange of spaces and ideas and connecting art institutions globally.

A conversation between Rodrigo Vijande, Carlos Duran and Oscar Hormigos kicked off ‘Criaturas híbridas’, an exhibition curated by Barcelona-based Galeria SENDA and on view at Movimiento 37, SOLO CSV (Madrid), until 21 November.

Bringing together Evru/Zush, Gonzalo Guzmán and Sandra Vàsquez de la Horra, ‘Criaturas híbridas’, unfolds across three distinct artistic universes where transformation is a constant. Language, matter and the body become territories in flux, blurring the boundaries between the human and the animal, the organic and the artificial, dream and reality.

‘Criaturas híbridas’, embodies the spirit of Movimiento 37, a SOLO project that opens its space at SOLO CSV to artists, galleries and institutions from around the world, fostering dialogue and exchange through exhibitions and artist residencies.

The discussion explored the themes that run through his work and the role of art in confronting unsettling realities.

‘End of Signal’ by reopens at SOLO CSV (Madrid).

On view from now until October 17, the exhibition explores a paradox of contemporary observation: what happens when we can see everything, yet still misread it? What space is left for uncertainty when vision is designed not just to observe, but to judge and authorize?

‘End of Signal’ is the winner exhibition of the SOLO AI ’25 AWARD, the prize created by dedicated to artistic practices engaging critically and creatively with artificial intelligence.

Movimiento 37 welcomes Galeria Senda with ‘Criaturas Híbridas’, an exhibition bringing together works by Evru/Zush, Sandra Vásquez de la Horra and Gonzalo Guzmán.

Exploring transformation as a way of seeing and reimagining the world, the exhibition moves across matter, bodies and language, where forms shift, merge and cross boundaries, between the human and the animal, the organic and the artificial, dream and reality.

Movimiento 37 is SOLO’s platform and space at SOLO CSV dedicated to fostering dialogue and exchange across the international art scene, inviting galleries and other art projects to temporarily inhabit and activate the space through exhibitions, collaborations and artist residencies.

Criaturas híbridas will be on view at SOLO CSV (Madrid) from 30 September.

Big Mousse Magenta (2026) by Gottfried Helnwein, on view at SOLO CSV, extends Helnwein: mundos invertidos, the artist’s first major retrospective in Spain, presented at SOLO Independencia.

Bringing together works from more than ten private European art collections, the exhibition also places Helnwein’s work in dialogue with that of other contemporary artists from Colección SOLO.
