Invisible Constellations is an art installation that fuses cartography, history, and the intangible to reveal the hidden layers of Salamanca. Through sculptural, luminous, and tactile elements, it explores the narratives and connections that have shaped the city.The work is structured in layers: from present-day Salamanca, represented by a metallic grid, to historical strata that include the Iron Age Castros, the medieval layout of the Cerca Vieja, and 15th-century pathways.

A fiber optic network connects the installation in three dimensions, casting points of light onto heritage spaces. Through light animations and a color code, visitors journey along a timeline that traces invisible constellations, reflecting the city’s evolution and memory.The installation invites you to immerse yourself in a multisensory experience that unveils the intangible connections weaving Salamanca’s cultural richness and historical complexity.

Constelaciones Invisibles es una instalación artística que fusiona cartografía, historia y lo intangible para revelar las capas ocultas de Salamanca. A través de elementos escultóricos, lumínicos y táctiles, explora las narrativas y conexiones que han dado forma a la ciudad. La obra se estructura en niveles: desde la Salamanca actual, representada por una trama metálica, hasta capas históricas que incluyen los Castros de la Edad del Hierro, el trazado medieval de la Cerca Vieja y los recorridos del siglo XV.

Una red de fibra óptica conecta tridimensionalmente la instalación, depositando puntos de luz en espacios patrimoniales. Mediante animaciones lumínicas y un código de color, los espectadores recorren una línea de tiempo que traza constelaciones invisibles, reflejando la evolución y memoria de la ciudad. La instalación invita a sumergirse en una experiencia multisensorial que desvela las conexiones intangibles que tejen la riqueza cultural y la complejidad histórica de Salamanca.

✨ Inauguramos “Constelaciones Invisibles” en el recién estrenado Museo Cerro de San Vicente en Salamanca, un enclave patrimonial cargado de historia y memoria.

🔭 Esta instalación escultórica-lumínica de Esther Pizarro Studio invita a recorrer las capas invisibles de la ciudad a través de luz, sonido, cartografía y emoción. Una experiencia sensorial que revela las narrativas ocultas que han dado forma a Salamanca desde sus orígenes.

💫 Gracias a Pablo Redero (proyecto museográfico) y Sonia Díez por hacernos parte de este espacio tan único.

🗓 Tras un año de investigación y creación, el proyecto ya puede visitarse de forma gratuita los viernes por la tarde y fines de semana por la mañana, con reserva previa en la web del Ayuntamiento de Salamanca:

✨ We’ve just inaugurated “Invisible Constellations” at the newly opened Cerro de San Vicente Museum in Salamanca — a heritage site steeped in history and memory.

🔭 This sculptural-light installation by Esther Pizarro Studio invites visitors to explore the invisible layers of the city through light, sound, cartography, and emotion. A sensory experience that unveils the hidden narratives that have shaped Salamanca since its origins.

💫 Special thanks to Pablo Redero (museum project) and Sonia Díez for inviting us to be part of such a unique and meaningful space.

🗓 After a year of research and creative development, the project is now open to the public for free on Friday afternoons and weekend mornings, with prior booking via the Salamanca City Council website:

Atlas of Solar Radiation is an artistic project that translates the dynamics of the sun into images, revealing its essential role as a source of energy and life on our planet. The project focuses on the solar radiation received by Spanish territory over a decade, transforming this data into a generative audiovisual work that poetically explores the visual metamorphosis of the sun’s energy flows.
The sun is an inexhaustible source of energy for our planet, driving a wide range of natural and technological processes on Earth, and playing a fundamental role in sustaining life and climate systems. Solar radiation refers to the total flow of electromagnetic energy it emits, describing the amount of solar energy reaching a specific surface over a given period. Quantifying the energy generated in a particular location is key to achieving a sustainable future.
Thanks to its strategic geographic position and technological progress, Spain ranks seventh worldwide in solar energy generation. Solar radiation maps, energy flow diagrams, and solar intensity charts are tools employed for its visual representation. The aesthetic metamorphosis of these scientific data sources forms the foundation for Esther Pizarro Studio to create Atlas of Solar Radiation, a generative atlas that translates real solar irradiation data from Spanish territory into abstract and suggestive images through an artistic lens.
