has been, for 30 years now, an open, living space—an inclusive institution full of stories and contrasts, just like the city of Berlin itself. A museum that reinvents itself, takes risks, and understands art as something that is happening now. A home for curious visitors who want to interact with the museum. A place to share, take part, and simply be art
We celebrated its 30th anniversary with a night full of life—a pure statement of identity: not to preserve art, but to activate it, question it, and project it into the future. And I can’t be grateful enough to have been part of it ! ❤️
Thank you and .fellrath , and thank you and for your role in this kind of patronage: for your endless generosity in accompanying, sustaining, and making it possible for institutions and artists to take risks and grow over time. At a moment when public support is increasingly limited, your commitment and vision make a real difference, because they introduce a more conscious, profound, and long-term way of caring for art—and because you share that spirit with all of us who are close to you.
Where do I begin… I got a selfie with taken by Wolfgang Tillmans himself! Shared a little with him, being surrounded by so many references and lovely people, having dinner while listening to the Berliner Philharmoniker alongside .allien , feeling the passion of Cate Blanchett (yes, she was here instead of at the Oscars), recognizing the legacy of Mona Hatoum and the importance of Kiran Nadar’s role as a patron, getting goosebumps with Alice Sara Ott playing Sakamoto at the piano, getting performers, seated as “audience members” in an opera house, watching us become the spectacle. The night was a living performance piece.
Celebrating this night with a global community that understands art as a space for encounter and transformation… I have no words. It was one of those nights that reminds you why you do what you do, and why Berlin is a place where anything can happen ✨💫
