Late Román spatha IV-V century
La spatha era un arma blanca empleada por el ejército romano durante el periodo de decadencia e invasiones bárbaras. Se originó en el siglo I a partir del gladius usado por la infantería, otorgándosele mayor tamaño para que pudiera ser usado de forma eficaz por la caballería.
Está spatha tiene la empuñadura en forma de H la cual era muy comun en los siglos IV y V.
La hoja esta biselada en la parte cercana a la empuñadura tiene forma de rombo y está comienza a afinarse y a aplanarse hasta la punta con está forma .
la empuñadura tiene segmentos de bronce equilibrandola y adornandola.
la vaina esta realizada en madera de nogal en dos piezas y la contera tiene tres bolas realizadas a mano.
Esta spatha ha sido realizada artesanalmente, su diseño está inspirado en las encontradas en yacimientos arqueológicos.
Utilizando materiales como: acero templado, bronce y madera de sapelí y nogal.
