How I record my 1 hour radio in 30 minutes each week.
It's National Radio Day, so here's a look at how my show actually gets made.
Mi Casa Es Tu Casa goes out for an hour every Friday on Beachgrooves. The recording takes me about 30 minutes.
The full process is in the carousel. I pick the week's tracks in Rekordbox and move the files onto my Mac. Everything goes into Ableton Live on four tracks: deck one, deck two, jingles and my voice over. I lay the mix out first. Then I record the vocal overlay and drop the jingles in.
Once it's built, I send it to the station over WeTransfer. It's scheduled to go live on Mixcloud straight after the radio broadcast finishes.
If you run your own show, or you're thinking about starting one, this is the setup I'd use.
Listen live on beachgrooves.com every Friday 11am EST or 10am GMT, you can also listen back from 12 noon on Mixcloud .
Happy Radio Day.
DJs let me know about your radio show in the comments, lets support each other.
