🎬 O pasado mes de xuño puidemos compartir os traballos nacidos no noso Laboratorio de Cinema Rural: catro curtametraxes que dan voz á nosa paisaxe, as nosas xentes e o noso territorio.

♥️ Que emocionante foi atoparnos, compartir os intensos momentos de cinema rebelde e apaixonado, falar dos procesos creativos, as temáticas tratadas e as anecdotas das rodaxes.

🌱 E que gratificante ver medrar esta semente, ver a boa acollida, a ilusión dxs novxs cineastas ao ver as súas curtas e as emocións xeradas pola experiencia comunitaria de ver cinema xuntas!!

✨ Siiii, queremos máis! Queremos seguir facendo pelis, abrindo as portas ao talento do rural e compartindo a maxia do cinema coas nosas veciñas e veciños.

Join us at O Castro Art Village on 11 & 12 August 2026 for two nights under the Ribeira Sacra sky. 🌌

🌠 August 11 · Night of Perseids
Workshops on the meteor shower, dinner and late night stargazing.

🌒 August 12 · Day of the Eclipse
Two eclipse workshops, the eclipse itself at 19:30, an art exhibition, a live set by F1N05 and DJ sets by Steven Garcia and Bird Lady until late.

🍽️🥂 Food and drinks will be available for purchase both days.

🚗 Parking is limited, so please carpool if you can!

Ven a celebrar el eclipse solar con nosotros. Cuando el sol vuelva a asomar, arrancamos el programa de música y arte en O Castro.

Joaquín Goldstein presenta su exposición y documental en loop en nuestro espacio de galería.

F1N05 nos ofrece un directo con sintetizador modular inspirado en el eclipse.
para bailar bajo las estrellas, dos DJs del underground neoyorquino: Steven Garcia y Bird Lady.
Habrá comida y bebida disponible para comprar in situ.

Y si no quieres conducir después de la fiesta, tenemos opción de camping en el lugar.

📣💥OPEN CALL: Visual / Mixed-Media Artist in Residency

🍃The walls are still standing. The roofs are mostly gone. The forest is moving in.

📹🎬We are looking for a visual artist.

🔻O Castro de Mourelos is an abandoned village in the Ribeira Sacra, Galicia — eight traditional stone houses in ruin, two hectares of forest, a landscape dense with memory and biological life. This October, it becomes a canvas.

🍁We are inviting one visual or mixed-media artist with a particular interest in video or expanded image practices to develop a permanent installation integrated into the ruins. Work that could only exist here. Work made from what is here: reclaimed materials, native elements, the specific weight of a place that was lived in and left.

🍁❤️‍🔥October in the Ribeira Sacra means the vines turning red across the terraced hillsides, low golden light by mid-afternoon, the chestnuts falling. The season when growth and decay are equally present, and equally available as material.

🏡You will be in residence for 30 days, working alongside a sound artist, an architect, and artistic director Davoud Gerami. You will live in a geodesic dome in the forest, eat well, walk far, and make something that stays.

📣💥OPEN CALL: Sound Artist in Residency

🍃🍂Granite walls. Old growth. Wind moving through spaces that once held daily life.

🎧🎶We are looking for a sound artist.

🔻O Castro de Mourelos is an abandoned village in the Ribeira Sacra, Galicia. The acoustic character of this place is inseparable from its history. The ruins amplify, absorb, and transform sound in ways no built studio can replicate. We want someone to listen to it, and to answer.

💪The work:
A permanent sound installation across the village, accessible through QR codes placed at specific points in the landscape. Not a guided tour. A second presence, or a sonic layer that visitors find as they move through the site.

🍁📆 You will spend 30 days here in October developing and recording it; a month when the forest floor softens with rain, migrating birds pass through, and the valley fills with morning fog. The landscape will be mid-transition, mid-breath. There is no better time to record.

🤝🏡 You will work in close dialogue with a visual artist and an architect, mentored by filmmaker Davoud Gerami. You will live in a geodesic dome inside the same forest you will be recording. The installation remains at O Castro after you leave.

💥 Field recording, composition, spatial audio, generative approaches, all are welcome so bring your practice. What matters is that the work is genuinely of this place.

📣👷‍♀️OPEN CALL: Architect in Residency

🏡 Eight stone houses in ruins. Two hectares of forest. A village that time walked away from.

👷We are looking for an architect. Not to rebuild. To look, to measure, to imagine, and to propose what this place could become without erasing what it has been.

🔻O Castro Art Village is an abandoned rural settlement in the Ribeira Sacra, Galicia, that we are slowly bringing back to life as a space for creative residency and cultural exchange.

📆 This October, we are hosting three international artists for 30 days of site-specific work, and we are looking for one architect to be among them.

🏗️ You will develop a spatial intervention study rooted in the site: its ruins, its forest, its vernacular stone construction, its particular October light. The proposal will remain as part of O Castro’s permanent research archive.

🛌 You will live in a geodesic dome in the forest, share meals with the other residents, walk the land, and work closely with a mentor throughout your stay.

Enough has been seen of the conformity of the collective West. Iran is confronted with an illegal war, waged by an orange madman and his Zionist masters. The people of Iran and the working class people of the world are the true victims for this imperialist circus.

While we criticize the government of Iran for many things, defending the country is certainly not one of them. Iranians have been fighting for their freedom for over a century now, and each time they have gotten close to this objective, their achievements have been eradicated by foreign interventions.

Let Iranians be the masters of their fate. Do not bomb their heritage. Their 7000 year old civilization belongs to all humanity. Cherish it and protect before it’s too late.
