Some images at the residency exchange that took place last May with PELE and Plàudite Teatre in Porto, during four days of encounters, learning and creation as part of the final stage of YAP!, an initiative that fosters exchanges between young people from Porto and Barcelona.
During their stay in Porto, participants reflected on ecology, the importance of living in tune with natural cycles, and the role of tenderness and care in building more sustainable futures. They presented the fanzine they had created together, and visited inspiring cultural spaces such as Casa d’Artes do Bonfim.
As a culmination of the project, they premiered "El batec de la terra desperta", co-created by adolescents from Plàudite Teatre, alongside "Radical Thenderness", performance developed by students from Agrupamento de Escolas Aurélia de Sousa, coordinated by PELE. Both pieces explored social and ecological crises, transforming feelings of exhaustion into a collective call for change and they were presented at Junta de Freguesia do Bonfim
Hosting these exchanges allows young people to discover new cultures, connect with others, and explore more conscious ways of living through care, listening and a deeper connection with the rhythms of the Earth.
YAP! is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, with the support of Injuve | Instituto de la Juventud and Ajuntament de L’Hospitalet, led by Plàudite Teatre in partnership with PELE. It was developed in collaboration with and recognised by the UNESCO Chair for the Prevention of Violence against Women (Cátedra Unesco Vcm).
