Old Skool Soul, New Skool Energy!

If you love Teardrops by Womack & Womack, this one’s for you… and if not, trust me, it still is.

This rework came about while I was filling in for a mate at a function. He handed me a USB and said, “You’ve gotta use this.” Most of the tunes weren’t really my vibe, but then I came across Teardrops and thought, “Yeahhh, can’t go wrong with this.”

Played it and the reaction cool. Then straight away I knew I wanted to do something with it.

I wanted to bring that timeless soul into a more current, afterhours flavour, something fresh, but still respectful to the original. Really enjoyed putting this one together, and I genuinely feel it came out nicely.

Take a listen. Go back in time… or don’t. Either way this one bangs!

Really feeling the air in this one right now — and that’s exactly why I’ve dropped it. After sitting on this project for what feels like ages and making the move to Ibiza, the timing finally feels right. The summer tune that you’ve all been waiting for!

It all started with Days Go By — a reimagined edit of a Men I Trust track that sparked something in me. From there came the Extended Deep Mix — designed for those long, golden-hour sessions, deep and smooth. A bit of a slower interpretation of house. One of my personal faves for sure… it just hits different.

As time went on, I found myself in one of those creative blocks we all go through from time to time, and something that I try to do every now and then is go through and listen to old projects, which allows me to understand that inner child again. So as I was going through old projects, trying to reegnight that feeling I had when I first started producing tunes, I stumbled across this EP which brought it all back for me — a time when creating wasn’t overthought, it just was. No second-guessing. Just pure freedom and expression.

So then, like most tunes I sit on, I tackled the main DAYS GO BY track with a different perspective, adding my new experiences and taste to the mix which led to the final piece of the puzzle: Stripped Back Dub. Influenced by late nights dancing in London — it’s deep, rolling, and stripped down. Tech house textures with real classical weight behind it.

As I say, this one really hits different and I hope you enjoy.
