For the last event before our August close-down, we have a rehearsed play reading at Centro Polivalente in Nueva Andalucia on Wednesday 15thJuly.

Fiona Poole will be directing The Regina Monologues written by Rebecca Russell and Jenny Wafer.

Six modern women have married one man, Henry. There are three Catherines, two Annes and one Jane. Their lives are both separate and intertwined. It’s a personal story with humour, pathos and a great deal of wine.

Tickets are 10€ for ITS members and 13€ for non-members and are available now!

This super council owned venue is new and accessible with plenty of local parking, but it is not licenced; so we will provide a limited drinks service outside as usual for a small donation.

Doors will open at 7pm, curtain up at 7.30 pm.

AUDITION NOTICE
Auditions on Saturday 13th June 2026 at 12 noon

Fiona Poole will be holding auditions for The Regina Monologues written by Rebecca Russell and Jenny Wafer on Saturday 13th June at the Age Concern Centre in San Pedro.

She is directing this as a rehearsed play reading on Wednesday 15th July for one performance only. She is looking for six females who will be available for rehearsals during end of June / beginning of July.

Synopsis of the play:
“Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived…” Admired, vilified, de-humanised. Three Catherines, two Annes and a Jane. Six women with one thing in common: marriage to a man called Henry. They all passed into historical legend, but of course, it couldn’t happen these days... Six modern women have also married one man. Their lives are both separate and intertwined as they tell their stories from a room in which they have all once lived. Their experiences – miscarriage, love affairs, betrayal, and a shared loathing of all things ginger – are portrayed with humour, pathos and a great deal of wine. The plight of those sixteenth century women is personal, poignant and still relevant five hundred years on. Contains Adult Humour and Content.

The Roles
We need six females of various age groups
CATHY, the discarded wife, saddened by loss of love
ANNIE, the faded beauty, worn out partying
JANE, pale and vulnerable, with an air of simplistic naivety
ANNA, looks older than her years, striking and intelligent. Wears a wig KATIE, sometimes vulnerable and childlike, sometimes the assured teenager
KATHERINE, the composed widow, determined and single minded

Come and support our annual charity event, Lark in the Park on Sunday 7th June in Parque Torres Leonera, Benahavis from 3pm.
This year we are supporting a fantastic charity EMAUS Obra De Amor. They provide daily food support and a welcoming space for people facing vulnerable situations within our community. 50% of all the door sales will go to the charity together with all of the raffle donations on the day.

One of our own seriously talented members, Kate Jackson, has written a new play called “THE FUN FACTORY”. She has secured a wonderful ITS comedy cast who will portray the story of entertainers from the Vaudeville era.

It a true story about the trials and tribulations of one of Britains first impresario’s , a gent called Fred Karno who introduced us to comic genius including Charlie Chaplin, Stan Laurel, Max Miller and the duo Flanagan & Allen.

All of these characters will be making an appearance alongside Lilly Langtry, Suzette Tarri, Arthur Lucan, Kitty Lucan and of course plenty of Yankee Doodle Girls.

Don’t miss this warm and moving tribute to the Music Hall greats and maybe even, join in with the sing-a-long.
