MALEN AGIRRE: _Roses and Hens_

On this occasion, Ekain Art Gallery presents the serie of oil paintings entitled
_Roses and Hens_ created by the artist Malen Agirre born 1988, who lives in the
Basque Country.

1.- “Etxe Gorria” | “Red House”
oil on canvas | 73 x 93 cm

This series emerged from a deeply personal and intimate perspective, rooted in the
deep vision and an everyday view of the landscape. It reflects on identity and the
feeling of belonging, while inviting a layered reading in which the intangible and the
grounded coexist, and the rustic blends with the refined, creating a dialogue
between them.

2.-“Once Upon a Time”

“I am particularly drawn to the combination and contrast between the two elements.
On one side, the hen; associated with the organic, with clay, with movement, with
the countryside life and with life itself. On the other hand, the rose: delicate, elegant,
apparently still”

3.- “Irri eta Berde Artean” |“Between Smile and Green”
oil on canvas | 93 x 73 cm

She is an Artist graduated in Fine Art from the University of the Basque Country
(UPV/EHU) in Bilbao. She grew up in an environment shaped by her family, as her
parents had a strong affinity of crafts, design and the fine arts. This environment
sparked a passion for painting in her which became her means of expression.

4.- “Zazpi Puntu” | “Seven Points”

En esta exposición presentamos una serie de obras creadas sobre papel artesanal y poliéster, utilizando tintas y acuarelas, pastel al óleo y gouache, con referencias a un mundo vegetal, leve y rumoroso. Arantxa Guereño, autora donostiarra licenciada en Geografía e Historia y diplomada en Arte Contemporáneo, cuenta con un largo recorrido de formación autodidacta. Recomendamos venir a ver las obras en persona para apreciar sus texturas y los detalles.

Oraingo erakusketan, artisau-paperaren eta poliesterrean, tintak eta akuarelak, olio-pastela eta akrilikoak erabiliaz, sortutako arte-lanak aurkezten ditugu. Arantxa Guereño artista donostiarra da bera eta bilduma horretarako mundu begetal, arin eta zurrumurru baten erreferentziak erabiliaz, ekoiztu izan du.

In this exhibition we present a series of works on handmade paper and polyester, using ink and watercolors, oil pastel and gouache, with references to a light and noisy, whispering vegetal world, created by the San Sebastián–based artist Arantxa Guereño.
