Leo Burge (London, 1991) is an artist based in Bilbao. He studied Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague. In 2015 he participated in Kalostra, the experimental art school in Donostia–San Sebastián, an experience that continues to inform his interdisciplinary and research-driven approach to artistic practice.

Working across painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, and writing, Burge investigates the conditions through which images emerge, circulate, and acquire material presence. His practice is rooted in an expanded understanding of painting, treating it as a spatial and conceptual field rather than a bounded medium. Combining industrial materials, handcrafted structures, found objects, and graphic processes, he constructs installations that challenge distinctions between image and object, surface and support, fiction and material reality.

Recent solo exhibitions include Ipar-hegora at Fundación BilbaoArte, Bilbao (2026), Blue Lines at Sala Rekalde, Bilbao (2025), Estructuras constantes at Jorge López Galería, Valencia (2023), Display Series III with Tina Gverović at Bulegoa z/b, Bilbao (2022), Metofam at CarrerasMugica, Bilbao (2020), and Petal at CarrerasMugica, Bilbao (2018). His work has also been presented in group exhibitions at institutions and independent art spaces across Spain and internationally.

Burge has undertaken residencies at BilbaoArte, Halfhouse (Barcelona), and KAMC Koganecho in Yokohama, Japan, where he also participated in the Koganecho Bazaar. He has received production and research grants from institutions including the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and Fundación BilbaoArte. His work forms part of public and private collections and continues to explore painting as an expanded field in dialogue with architecture, material processes, and contemporary visual culture.

Taxio Ardanaz (Pamplona/Iruña, 1978) is an artist based between Navarre and the Basque Country. He graduated in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and has furthered his education through seminars and workshops with artists and curators including Julie Mehretu, Esther Ferrer, Itziar Okariz, Mirosław Bałka, and Peio Aguirre.

His multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, installation, photography, and research-based projects that examine the relationship between ideology, representation, and collective memory. Drawing on historical archives, political imagery, and the material traces of conflict, Ardanaz investigates how images construct and mediate narratives of power, identity, and resistance. Through a restrained visual language that combines documentary strategies with formal abstraction, his work reflects on the ways in which political histories remain embedded in landscapes, architecture, and everyday objects.

Recent solo exhibitions include presentations at CarrerasMugica, Bilbao (2023, 2017), Galería Pelaires, Palma de Mallorca (2022), El Sario–Public University of Navarre, Pamplona (2021), Tabacalera Promoción del Arte, Madrid (2017), and Artist x Artist, Havana (2016). His work has also been presented in museums and institutions including Museo de Navarra, San Telmo Museoa, CIAJG Guimarães, Matadero Madrid, and Centro Huarte.

Ardanaz has undertaken international residencies at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, Amna Suraka in Iraqi Kurdistan, Artist x Artist in Havana, Kunsthaus Bregenz (Austria), Oficina de Arte (Mexico), and in China. In 2021 he was artist-in-residence at Tabakalera, Donostia–San Sebastián, where he developed izan eta esan, a project exploring the intersections between language, image, and political subjectivity. In 2026 he was awarded a three-month residency at Matadero Madrid, developing PANCARTA, a research project examining the banner as a graphic device and political object within the history of social movements.

Ariana RAC (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 1999) is a transdisciplinary artist based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, working across sculpture, installation, and performance, alongside curatorial and cultural management practice. She studied Fine Arts at UPV/EHU, with further studies in performative practice at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno, Czech Republic.

Her practice engages tension and subversion as tools of constant questioning toward the established order, working through both the ecology of materials and sociopolitical perspectives crossed by queerness. Recent exhibitions include the solo show Gerizpearen hutsunea at the Claustro de Santa María, Deba (2025), and group exhibitions at Fundación Madariaga, Seville (2025), and CC Montehermoso, Vitoria-Gasteiz (2024). She has undertaken residencies including Culture Moves Europe (Goethe-Institut, Athens), Tabakalera–Chillida Leku, Revive Programme (Turku), and Beca Talaiótica (Menorca).

In 2024 she received the Haziak prize for emerging creatives with the project Queerclogénesis explosiva, and the Gazte Sortzaileak prize for (ez)materiala, alongside a production and creation grant from the Basque Government. She also works as curator and cultural manager at Zas Kultur, a contemporary art space in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Raisa Álava (Zuhatza, Ayala, 1990) is a Bilbao-based artist and illustrator working across drawing, engraving, silkscreen, ceramics, and illustration. She studied Fine Arts at UPV/EHU with a specialisation in graphic arts, later completing a master’s in ceramics at the same university and a postgraduate degree in Illustration and Comic at Elisava, Barcelona.
Her work draws on lived and imagined experience, collective memory, and comic culture, moving fluidly between fine art and editorial commissions. She has exhibited individually and collectively, including a solo show at Sala Rekalde (Bilbao), and has undertaken residencies at AirWro, Wrocław (Poland), and Maison des Auteurs, Angoulême (France), the latter through the Irudika illustration grant. In 2023 she designed the official poster for the Tour de France, bringing her work international visibility; her illustrations have also appeared in The New Yorker and The New York Times.
She received the “Eskualdea” production grant from Museo Artium (Vitoria-Gasteiz) in 2019, the First Prize at the Calcografía Nacional graphic art competition (Madrid) in 2017, and was awarded the Guk de Oro 2024 in recognition of her artistic career.

Damaris Pan (Mallabia, 1983) is a painter based in Bilbao, where she combines her studio practice with a teaching position in the Department of Painting at the Fine Arts Faculty of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She studied Fine Arts at UPV/EHU and at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee in Berlin, and completed her PhD in 2014 with a thesis on deviation and anomaly as artistic foundations.

Her painting is defined by its commitment to the autonomy of the pictorial work, driven by a sustained inquiry into materiality, construction, and the body. Recent solo exhibitions include Oalddilal V at Museo Patio Herreriano (2024), Male Male at Galería Fermay, Mallorca (2023), Un ma****lo en la cabeza puede dañar el alma at Ana Mas Projects, Barcelona (2022), and Veri Pery at Halfhouse, Barcelona (2022). She has undertaken residencies at the Kunsthochschule Weissensee, Art Omi in New York, and the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Chongqing, China. In 2026 she was selected as one of the inaugural artists for Kometak, a cross-border residency program by Etxepare Euskal Institutua, Centro Huarte, and Zébra3, undertaking a six-week residency in Bordeaux with the project Derrapaje metafórico, exploring painting as a speculative practice.

In 2021 she received the Gure Artea Prize from the Basque Government in recognition of her artistic career, and she won the 39th BMW Painting Prize for her work All Monsters Are Human II. Her work belongs to collections including Artium Museoa, Fundación La Caixa, Fundación BilbaoArte, and the Francis J. Greenburger and Art Omi collections in the United States.
