Six months ago, I wrote about a dream manifested.
Six months in, I’m standing inside what that dream has become.
Not finished.
Not static.
But evolving.
We didn’t come in to change ODD.
We came in to deepen it.
To honour it.
To build on what was already there.
What started as a kiosk is now more intentional. More precise. More unapologetic in its voice.
The most visible shift is the color.
ODD is now green.
Not as a rejection of what was, but as an evolution of what it can be.
Something still ODD, but more grounded. More open. More genderless.
A space that simply says: you belong.
We kept the bones.
The name.
The spirit.
And refined everything around it.
Today, ODD is@100% LGBTQIA+ art and magazine focused.
That matters.
Because visibility is physical. It lives in public space.
And to stand on a corner in Barcelona and say: this is ours, is poweful.
We are not diluting the message.
We are centering it.
Every zine.
Every print.
Every magazine.
A living archive of LGBTQIA+ expression, in plain sight.
We are not a bar.
We are not built around alcohol.
We are a sober space.
A place for coffee, conversation, and connection.
Because inclusion isn’t just who you represent. It’s how you make space for people to exist.
We’ve pushed further.
Pop-ups.
Artist moments.
Exhibitions spilling onto the sidewalk.
Turning a kiosk into a cultural space.
What makes me most proud
isn’t just what we’ve built,
but who we’ve built it with.
Simon, now leading as manager.
And a team that reflects the world we want to see, spanning cultures, backgrounds, and eight languages.
This has never been about aesthetics alone.
It’s about visibility.
It’s about ownership.
It’s about taking up space.
Six months in:
We are just getting started.
With love, intention, and community at the center.
Forever grateful.
Forever ODD.
With joy, intention, and purpose
