Triste nouvelle, un véritable amoureux des animaux, repose en paix Michel.
C'est avec une profonde tristesse que nous avons appris le décès de Michel Louis, fondateur du Zoo d'Amnéville.
En 1986, porté par une passion des animaux qui l'animait depuis son plus jeune âge, Michel Louis donnait vie à un projet ambitieux : créer un parc zoologique où chacun pourrait découvrir, comprendre et aimer le monde animal.
Visionnaire et homme de conviction, il a consacré sa vie au développement du Zoo d'Amnéville. Il a imaginé et construit des installations animalières qui demeurent encore aujourd'hui une référence à l'échelle européenne et a contribué à faire du parc l'un des plus grands zoos de France.
Au-delà de son œuvre, Michel Louis a marqué toute une génération de professionnels du monde zoologique. Nombreux sont ceux qui sont venus chercher auprès de lui conseils, inspiration et expertise, témoignant de la reconnaissance dont il jouissait bien au-delà des frontières du parc.
Son engagement sans faille en faveur des animaux, sa détermination et sa vision auront profondément marqué l'histoire du Zoo d'Amnéville et le monde zoologique.
Aujourd'hui, nos pensées accompagnent sa famille, ses proches ainsi que toutes celles et ceux qui ont eu la chance de croiser son chemin.
Son héritage continuera de vivre à travers le Zoo d'Amnéville et auprès des millions de visiteurs qui y découvrent, chaque année, la beauté et la richesse du monde animal.

It is with profound sadness that we learned of the passing of Michel Louis, founder of Zoo d'Amnéville.
In 1986, driven by a lifelong passion for animals, Michel Louis brought to life an ambitious vision: to create a zoological park where everyone could discover, understand and develop a deeper appreciation for the animal world.
A visionary and a man of conviction, he devoted his life to the development of Zoo d'Amnéville. He designed and built animal facilities that remain a benchmark at the European level to this day and helped establish the Zoo as one of France's leading zoological parks.
Beyond his achievements, Michel Louis inspired generations of zoological professionals. Many sought his advice, expertise and guidance, reflecting the respect and recognition he earned far beyond the boundaries of the Zoo.
His unwavering commitment to animals, his determination and his vision have left a lasting mark on the history of Zoo d'Amnéville and on the zoological community as a whole.
Today, our thoughts are with his family, his loved ones and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
