He’s my comet, but I’m his telescope. I need a telescope to see and reach him, but I don’t need one—because he already has me.
"Hailey, I got ya!" Min chuckled, catching me effortlessly in his arms and carrying me bridal style.
I giggled in awe. How fascinating.
We were playing hide-and-seek, and, unluckily, he found me.
I wrapped my arms around his bare neck, facing him. But as his warm breath brushed against my skin, a shiver ran down my spine.
"S-Stop it, Min!" I stammered, feeling nervous.
"Just let me love you, Hailey," he whispered, his tone turning serious. Before I could respond, he kissed me—fervently, unexpectedly, deeply.

A Few Days Before Christmas
Christmas was just around the corner, yet my heart pounded with unease. I hadn’t seen Min for three days. He was busy with his career, and the public had no idea about the secret he kept in his heart.
Tears welled in my eyes, but before they could fall, I saw a familiar silhouette in the distance. My heart skipped a beat.
"Min!" I called out, running toward him with open arms.
"Hailey! I missed you! Merry Christmas, my honey!" He pulled me into a tight embrace.
"M-M-Min, I can't b-breathe," I gasped.
"Oh! Sorry, you're so tiny," he teased, ruffling my hair.
"Why do you always mess up my hair?!" I pouted, pretending to be annoyed.
"You asked because?" He smirked before dashing away.
And just like that, we were playing tag again—our little world filled with laughter and love.

For the past few days, nausea, dizziness, and stomach pains tormented me. My breathing felt heavier, my chest ached. What did I eat yesterday? Panic crept in as curiosity and fear warred within me.
I needed answers.
So, I went to the hospital.
"Ms. Hailey Cadren, I have both good and bad news for you," Doctor Lia said, her expression unreadable.
"Start with the good one," I said, forcing a giggle to mask my nerves.
She smiled before delivering the news.
"You're pregnant. Congratulations, Mrs. Joon!" She extended her hand, and I shook it, my heart soaring with happiness.
But then, her excitement dimmed.
"However…" Doctor Lia hesitated, her tone heavy with concern. She reached for my hand and handed me a brown envelope.
I opened it.
The words blurred as my vision swam with unshed tears.
"Doc… is this true? But why?" My voice cracked as despair consumed me.

"Hailey, please eat this?" Min pleaded, handing me freshly sliced mangoes.
"No, I don’t want it," I pouted.
He smirked and leaned in, planting a quick kiss on my lips.
Here we go again.
"Fine, I'll eat it, okay?" I said, rubbing my swollen belly. "Right, baby?"
Seven months. Our baby was growing strong and healthy. Unlike me.
He was a boy! Our little prince.
But suddenly, pain shot through my abdomen. My stomach clenched, and a gush of fluid trickled down my legs. My chest tightened unbearably.
"Minnnnnn!!" I screamed.
"Oh f***! Easy, honey! I'll get my keys, okay? I got you! I love you! Don’t panic!" He scrambled to grab the car keys.
"Please, hurry!" I sobbed, my body writhing in agony.

"Min?"
I woke up to the sound of a baby’s cry.
"Hailey?" His voice was soft, almost pleading, as he gently caressed my hair.
"Hmm?"
"Why did you do that?"
"W-What do you mean?"
"Why did you lie to me, Hailey?" His tears fell freely now, his anguish pouring out.
"For years, we lived together. We built a life together. I was the happiest man alive when we had our angel. But why… why did you hide this from me?" His voice cracked. "Why didn't you tell me you had cardiomyopathy?"
I looked away, ashamed.
"Min… I didn't want to worry you. You were always so busy, and—"
My breath caught. My chest tightened. I struggled to breathe.
"Hailey, please! Don’t do this to me! Doctor! Nurse!" He shouted desperately, but I reached for his arm, stopping him.
With the last of my strength, I smiled.
"Let's collide our luck in the universe… next life, my serendipity."
I turned to our baby, my vision blurring, and then back to Min. I kissed his hand one last time.
"Treasure our angel… my serendipity. And I… I will walk my path as your singularity. Hmm?"
Tears streamed down his face as he pressed his lips to mine—our last kiss.
Then, he rested his forehead against mine and whispered, "I'll wait for you… in our universe, my penicillin."
And as his voice trembled, he let out a heartbreaking howl, like a wolf mourning under the moonlight.
I smiled weakly.
"Sorry for being your nightmare, my daydream."
And with that, I closed my eyes.
