A simple Photoshop technique transformed into something straight out of the Spider-Verse. Pixel Stretch remains one of my favourite effects because of how much motion and energy it can add to a still image.

Photoshop Pixel Stretch Effect 🎨

This is one of the easiest Photoshop effects you can create, and the best part? No AI required.

To create the Pixel Stretch effect:

✅ Select the Single Row Marquee Tool
✅ Click on an area of your image with strong colours or detail
✅ Press CMD + J to duplicate the selection onto a new layer
✅ Press CMD + T and stretch the layer down the canvas
✅ Right-click and choose Warp to shape and refine the effect

That’s it. A simple technique that can completely transform your images and create unique abstract artwork in seconds.

The Liquify Tool in Adobe Illustrator

This tool feels like one of those hidden creative weapons more designers should be using. Instead of rebuilding shapes from scratch, you can push, pull, warp and distort your artwork naturally in real time to create fluid typography, surreal illustrations and experimental graphics way faster.

One of my favourite things about this tool is how unpredictable it can be. You start with a simple vector shape and suddenly turn it into something completely unique just by experimenting with movement and flow. Perfect for poster design, album covers, branding concepts, abstract artwork and futuristic visuals.

A lot of people overlook tools like this because they focus only on precision, but sometimes the best creative ideas come from distortion, imperfections and experimentation. That’s where designs start feeling original.

Throwback to one of my favourite creative series on this page, recreating iconic paintings with modern pop culture twists using Adobe Photoshop. 🎨

For this piece I combined the timeless look of classic portrait art with the likeness and energy of Billie Eilish to create something that feels both vintage and modern at the same time. This is the kind of Photoshop experimentation I love most, blending photo manipulation, digital art, colour grading and storytelling all into one final design.

One of my favourite things about being a designer is taking inspiration from history, movies, music and current culture, then rebuilding it into something completely new through creativity and editing.

Cigarette Burns 🚬

First rule of creativity… don’t let perfection kill experimentation.

A cigarette burn is a split second flash frame once used in old film projections to signal a reel change. Hidden for just a moment, but impossible to forget once you notice it.

Made completely with Adobe Photoshop. This was a simple idea and made honestly just for fun.
